You ask who is Jesus? He is the Nailed God. He is one of many. Today most believe and accept that there is but one God. And they base this belief on Jewish religious dogma. According to the Jewish dogma no other exists. And this belief is not just restricted to the 2x2s but all other Christians tend to assume that their forefathers devoutly believed the same. And in this belief system hardly a notice is taken of the fact that the Bible also shows, time and again, that wasn't the prevailing system of belief among the ancient Israelites. Why is it so difficult for the majority to see that the different scribes who wrote most of the biblical canon believed the incorporeal world was populated by a multitude of gods? Yes, it is true that the Israelites did evidently come to except that the Hebrews should not worship any of these other deities, only Yahweh (which is what scholars call henotheism or monolatry). This is explicitly stated in the Second Commandment: “Thou shalt have no other gods before me” (Exodus 20:3). The verse "Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods?" (Exodus 15:11) is even more explicit about other gods existing alongside Yahweh. Among the books of the Bible we find reference to a great many other gods, sometimes with explicit references to miracles performed by them. These gods are generally members of the West Semitic pantheon of gods, those worshipped by people speaking languages closely related to Hebrew.

Ultimately God is our saviour. It is 'through' Jesus that God saves us because God has raised up the human being Jesus to be the route to our salvation. We are to follow him in God's way, truth and life which leads us to God. This is why Jesus is our Lord and saviour because he is God's way to salvation. Jesus led a 100% perfect life of obedience to God, even unto his death on the cross. His shed blood atones for our sins as we seek to follow Jesus, without which we would be unacceptable to God. Now it's my turn. Do you really believe that a belt buckle is God?

Now it's my turn. Do you really believe that a belt buckle is God? Of course not! There is no life in a belt buckle. What an inane question! Jesus was more then a mere man. John 1:1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Vs. 2 Th same was in the beginning with God. Vs. 3. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything was made. Isaiah 9:6. For unto us a child is born, ‘unto us a Son is given(already begotten’): and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his NAME shall be called ‘Wonderful, Counselor, THE MIGHTY GOD, the Everlasting FATHER, The Prince of Peace. Revelations 1:7-8 Behold, he(Jesus Christ in vs. 5) with clouds ; and every eye shall see him , and they also who pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so. Amen. (This would take place for a mere man?) Vs.8. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning (John 1:1) and the ending, saith the Lord(Jesus Christ) which is, and which was and which is to come. Hebrews 2:7. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower(incarnated into human body God prepared for him in Mary’s womb) FOR the SUFFERING of DEATH, CROWNED with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. Psalms 49:7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, NOR TO GOD A RANSOM FOR HIM. Isaiah 44:24. Thus saith the LORD, thy ‘ Redeemer’, and he that formed thee from the womb, ‘I AM’ the LORD that make Th all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens ALONE; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself.

Jesus also said that He is the way, truth and life and the resurrection and the life. If he was just a man striving to continue to live perfectly before God, those profound words would have never left his lips. If Jesus was just a man like you and I, how did he die as a substitute for all human beings - you and I can only die in the place of one other person. The Bible is clear that our sins are forgiven at the point we are born again - justification through faith in Christ - that declaration of righteousness before a Holy God continues in life as we continue to confess our sins before God.

Jesus also said that He is the way, truth and life and the resurrection and the life. If he was just a man striving to continue to live perfectly before God, those profound words would have never left his lips. Absolute rubbish Ross. You look at man in the fallen context and cannot understand just how God regards perfect man. He created man in his own image. in his likeness created he, him. God WALKED with perfect man in the Garden of Eden until man fell away through disobedience. Jesus was the second Adam, who remained perfect because he remained obedient to his heavenly Father. God gave him his spirit without measure. God walked with Jesus. In God's eyes there is no such thing as 'just a man' when that man is obedient to his will. Rather that man is extremely important to God and is heading to be exalted by God. Jesus showed us the way to remain obedient to God and just how to attain that importance to God.If Jesus was just a man like you and I, how did he die as a substitute for all human beings - you and I can only die in the place of one other person. God decides what he requires, NOT human beings like us. Jesus was more than 'just a man.' He was a perfect man obedient to the mind and will of God. Jesus was the 'perfect' sacrifice. He was the only one to achieve the standard required to die for the sins of the world.
The Bible is clear that our sins are forgiven at the point we are born again - justification through faith in Christ - that declaration of righteousness before a Holy God continues in life as we continue to confess our sins before God. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive our sins. Confession means repentance.

Titus 2:13 - and don’t say God refers to the Father because the context shows it clearly refers to the Son. I’ve learned that you don’t specifically answer questions but deflect. I’m feeling thankful that Jesus was fully human but in very nature God, a life-giving Spirit and the Word who was with God and was God - the One who was made flesh and dwelt amongst us. He was indeed the perfect man from Heaven who dwelt eternally with the Father but became lower on earth for a short period of time. How are you going with your worship of Jesus? As I’ve said previously - one day we all will fall down before Him and worship Him - why would you refuse to do it now? I can understand why your theology severely limits who Jesus is. When you argue, despite Christ’s words to the contrary, that He didn’t exist before He was born on earth, I get that you will arrive at the conclusions you do. They are incorrect conclusions based on all that God has written for us in His Word but you won’t be the first or last person to develop a theology that is inconsistent with Scripture.

Once more Nathan. Where does the term God the Son appear in the Bible. I am not interested in any beliefs other than what the Bible clearly states. We are told to believe in Jesus the (human being) son of God, which is a necessary part of salvation. That is abundantly clear. We are not told to believe in God the Son or that Jesus is God. These are additions to, or distractions from the Truth! No one, never mind a trinitarian believer, can honestly dispute that. ** Yes, I agree with you that Jesus is the Son of God = God's Son or God the Son. in the book of HEB 1:8-12 God/the Father called His Son "God and LORD/Yahweh." In Rev. 1:8; Rev. 21:5-8 Jesus said he is Almighty and God. According to these verses Jesus is God and he is the Son of God. Therefore, Jesus is God and he is also God's Son. Umm there is a huge difference between the phrases, Son of God and God the Son. Just sayin... After all, when someone has a kid and their profession is a welder, it doesn't mean the son is also a welder. Jesus can very well be the son of God and not have the same profession of god.....

"For all the gods of the people are idols: but the Lord made the heavens." - 1 Chronicles 16:26. "God the Son" is a man-made idol which is never found in the Bible. All Trinitarians are IDOLATORS for worshiping this invention. Of course the idolatry has a tendency to spread even further in these churches. The next thing you know, you have a leader sitting on a golden throne, clutching a crucifix, and wearing a more elaborate gown than Miss America. openingact34, God the Father said the Son/Jesus created the heavens in Hebrews 1:8-12... How can Jesus created the heavens, when he was born 2000 yrs ago, the heavens created billions of years ago or longer. Can you explain that if Jesus was NOT God.
Do you think God the Father was a LIAR when he said the Son Created the heavens and all things, the angels and humans in the Universe?
hmmm maybe this is evidence of reincarnation after all. Maybe we've all, always existed, and just been born again and again and again....

But Mountain, you just stumbled on the argument that those who believe in the Trinity doctrine say is the reason why Jesus was God. The ones that brought in the Trinity didn't believe Jesus could have been chosen to save everyone else if he himself wasn't a God. They couldn't accept that God could choose a perfect human to do the same, and in fact, that would have far more of an impact than a God dying for mankind. I was always motivated and inspired by the notion that Jesus was a human, just like me, that had actually achieved perfection in his lifetime and was chosen by God to be the role model, the example for all others. Saying a God died to save us really doesn't do much to inspire. But it does lead to a doctrine where no human can achieve perfection so don't bother to think you might be able to. Just believe Jesus is God and you will be saved. Not as much work of course, and many like it easy. But of course, the argument for that is once you believe in Jesus and are saved that then the holy spirit enters you and you become as good as any human can be short of perfection. And, you are saved forever. Though not all believe the 'once saved always saved'. But that's a whole different topic.

When God said “Let us create man in our image.” GUESS what! God was and is a spirit, no body like human body there. This is how man is created in image like God he has a spirit. Then God the Son(all things were created by the Word and nothing was created without him) prepared a dust and water human frame to house that spirit. God had intended that man would live eternally like the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are And was eternal. Adam and Eve are the only humans to be created sinless. Then Satan enters into the equation and finds a weak spot and man falls forever. The sin of disobedience is passed from generation to generation. Thus God’s plan of salvation was to send his only begotten Son as Redeemer or propitiation for mankind’s sins. This plan was before all else. Gid’s Son had already been begotten. As in Isaiah says “a Son is given.” So mankind continues to make the mistake to visualize God in man’s image, not the other way around! Thus it causes us to misread the Bible!

There really is not a big difference between the Son of God as to God the Son. Think! The Father begat his Son entirely all on his own. There was and is no other person, spirit or human involved in the begetting if the Father’s Son. Thus how can this Son be anything but an express image of the Father? The Father had no parentage so there’s no grandparents involved in the makeup of the Son. He is 100% the same as the Father, God. Mountain and others think God had sex with Mary to procreate Jesus but that’s not what the Bible says. Isaiah said “unto us a Son is given”, meaning the Son was already begotten. The Father just prepared a human body in Mary’s womb so God’s Son(God the Son; Son as spirit) could be embodied within that body! He could not die as being the express image of the Father or God the Son so the Father imbodied him into a human body in Mary’s womb, so he could shed his blood and die. But his God the Son did not die as Jesus committed his spirit to the Father’s keeping while on the cross.

So reasonably it would take more then a man or brother to redeem man. People that think they can be like Jesus are fooling themselves. Adam and Eve are the best examples of why man cannot be perfect. If anyone could have been perfect it was Adam for he was created sinless to start with. If we think we can be perfect that takes away our faith in Jesus Christ and puts that faith in ourselves. We do not develop a dependency in our spiritual lives upon the Lord when we think we can be perfect like Jesus. Paul addressed this very thing when he warned about “will worship”. We start worshipping our powers of Will when we think we can be perfect like Jesus was perfect! What God has always asked for is: Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, mind and soul. How can we do that if we’re worshipping our own will power? However, if mankind could be perfect then there’d been no Jesus nor he would have had to die. It would have been a moot point.

And, if you think about that, it means that Jesus is not equal to the father or just part of the father, because in order to God the Father to make Jesus, God the Father has to exist before Jesus, so that would make Jesus an entity all by himself, and not one being with God the Father. No matter how it's twisted, there is no equality between God the Father, and his son. Also, no son or daughter is the express image of their parents, in this case one parent. Makes God sound like a single cell organism that evolved enough to split in two or something.

Talk about taking away any hope for perfection, not taking responsibility for our behavior by believing we inherited our sinful status from someone else etc. The belief anyone else should die because of the crimes you committed is just not acceptable. Not to me anyway.

Heb. 9:26-28 Otherwise, Christ would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But now He has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of Himself. Just as man is appointed to die once, and after that to face judgment, so also Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who eagerly await Him.… Which Religions Believe in Reincarnation? Religions that believe in reincarnation include:
Hinduism. Jainism.
Buddhism. Sikhism.

Not to me anyway. No, the Bible doesn’t say a newborn is a sinner. It’s says it was born in sin. Ephesians 2:3. Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in “the lusts of our flesh” fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature children of wrath, even as others. Did you never wonder why Adam didn’t know his wife until after they were evicted out of the Garden of Eden? They were sinless, they’d never done anything to sate their flesh’s lusts until Satan tempted them to disobey God and eat of the Tree of Knowledge if Goid and Evil.

hmmm maybe this is evidence of reincarnation after all. Maybe we've all, always existed, and just been born again and again and again.... Reincarnation is Buddhism….. Jesus teaching there is No Reincarnation but Resurrection Read Luke 16.
Hinduism. Jainism.
Buddhism. Sikhism.Yes Christians have reinterpreted some of the verses in the OT that sound very suspiciously of reincarnation and the belief of it. They call it resurrection instead.

Why? Why is it impossible? Just because that's what you've been told? The Christian religion has taught their people that they are just sinners and can't be anything else. That they were never an innocent, and even when you are born you are a horrible sinner. I think that teaching is one of the worst afflictions Christianity has done to mankind. Talk about taking away any hope for perfection, not taking responsibility for our behavior by believing we inherited our sinful status from someone else etc. The belief anyone else should die because of the crimes you committed is just not acceptable. Not to me anyway. Jesus wasn’t just “anyone”. He was God the Son, creator of all things who GAVE his own human life to save his creation. Why is that so hard to understand? He GAVE it. The Father and the Son knew he would be resurrected and “restored to the glory he had with the Father” before the world ever became.” It wasn’t like a death penalty for crimes like humans do to criminals, but it was a human life and blood given in order to secure eternal life for the sinners.

What is the difference between being born in sin and being born a sinner when the outcome is the same thing? Why do religions have such a hatred for sex? Why was it better for Adam and Eve to not have sex? I think the Christian God needs to find himself a wife and quit creating and start begatting. He might not be so hard on his creation.

Which makes even less sense to me. Why would God make humans with the express knowledge that he would have to die to save them from himself as some point? That means he knowingly made humans that were incapable of not sinning, condemned them for this imperfection, and knew from the start that he had to die to save them? Doesn't anyone see just how unnecessary it all was and therefore improbable? Did he make imperfect humans on purpose? It certainly sounds that way and what would be the sense of doing something like that?

I didn’t say it was better for them to not have sex, what I was trying to point out in their sinless estate they weren’t into slaking their lusts. Also when it says a babe is born in sin, that’s a reflection on their parents not the babe. They were slaking their lusts whether for sexual release or purposefully making a baby, it was about giving their lusts or desires satiation.

To give mankind a reason to seek their creator and have a good relationship with the God of heaven all to the glory of God. It’s not unlike parents wanting their children to be reliant on them just as their parents.

Ross.BowdenCan you please explain why the earlier gospels, Matthew, Mark and Luke, do not record that Jesus said he was God?
