The Golan Heights is a security risk when under Arab control. It has to be Israeli controlled to stop Arab snipers from shooting into Israel, to protect the Sea of Galilee, and to provide a buffer zone. I would say it was more about fresh water and imperialism. Syrians used to fire on Israeli citizens from the Golan Heights. Israel should only consider withdrawal as part of a comnprehensive peace deal with Syria.

Israel is well on the way to becoming a pariah state. If warrants for arrest are issued then that will stop just about all international travel for those affected.

Considering the population of the Gaza Strip is 2.1 million, the 34,500 deaths aren't too bad for a war of that magnitude.. 2.065 million have survived the massive bombing campaign, that's a precision attack.

I agree. Israel didn't start this war but for their own security they need to make sure there is never a repeat of the October 7 atrocities. When a war is forced upon you, you're doing pretty well if you can limit deaths to less than two percent of the population. Many of the dead are terrorists, their wives, and their children.

It's unprecedented that the United Nations did such a great job of preparing a population for destruction. The United Nations knew the government of Gaza had at least 350 miles of tunnels. The United nations knew the government of Gaza stored rockets around UN facilities. The United Nations knew their schools taught Gazan children to hate Israel and Jews.

The who started it question depends on which Gaza Israel conflict. Gaza–Israel conflict2. " Many of the dead are terrorists, their wives, and their children" - Let's say a Palestinian kills an Israeli. Are you saying if that's the case, then it's then OK to kill his wife and children too?

How about a rape comparison instead of a death comparison using the "ratio morality method". In WW II it is estimated 190,000 rapes were committed by American soldiers. How many rapes in Gaza is acceptable? Using the "ratio morality method" ... How many 2x2 child rapes are acceptable? How many adult rapes per worker in a lifetime is acceptable? I don't think morality works that way.

It's awful that non-combatants are being killed, especially children. That's why the terrorists who hide behind their children must be disarmed.

Both the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), and Palestinian militant groups (including Hamas) have used civilians as human shields to discourage the opposing side from attacking." The neutrality of the style of writing in this article is disputed. Everything in the Middle East is disputed, so I’m not surprised. 😀 I didn’t dig into the references, but doubt it’s a one sided story. Desperate people do desperate things. It’s easier to hide in a tank than behind a human shield, if you are the one with a tank, so I guess it’s more the Palestinians doing this in Gaza. ---------------------------- edit video added ----------------------------

Some history.
Use of "human shields" in Palestine has a long history.

Hamas doesn't want aid getting into Gaza. They want to pull the heartstrings of Westerners with images of starving children. That could be true. Yet, Israel has closed the flow of aid as of 24 hours ago.
Gaza aid 'choked off' after Israel seizes Rafah border crossing "Israeli forces seized the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt on Tuesday, and closed the flow of humanitarian aid through the checkpoint. Another nearby crossing — between Gaza and Israel — was also closed earlier this month."
