I'm sure he would like to fire Fauci if it became politically expedient to do so. Fauci doesn't seem to get the memo that Trump is an expert on everything. Actually, the greatest expert the world has ever known. By far. Apart from being really sad, it's almost comical how Americans are saying Fauci shouldn't have so much influence because "he was never elected". As if being elected has anything to do with being an expert in one's field. Of all places, I would have expected America to go with evidence-based science. There are plenty of Americans who admire Faucci and who look to state governors like Andrew Cuomo for the fact-informed leadership presently missing at the "top". My hope is that the American people will make America great again by dumping Trump at the next election. That from one who has always voted centre-right.

There is at least one conservative group, "The Lincoln Project", which has endorsed Biden. They have run attack ads that have inspired Twitter Storms from Trump. I'm coping (tolerating) this pandemic better now, but things will never be the same (as good). Tomorrow, I will have the distinct pleasure of firing that lazy slob who worked for me, and it will be the highlight of my week. I plan to do it with a cold simple text message, mainly to put a damper on her hot Florida vacation ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) .. A little sadistic, but its good.

So, -not only are you being sadistic by your own admission but you haven't even the guts to tell her to her face?

I work at a State Prison. My hours have increased and that is about it. So more money and less opportunities to spend it. My girlfriend works at a bank and works two weeks on and then two weeks off. She gets paid for that two weeks off. So, we are blessed.

He doesn't want to come to work and loose that free money so, I had to work by myself and with a part time guy.

I've been working 16 hour days for 2 months doing her job and mine too, so yes, I am more than a little disgruntled with her. From my view, its her attitude being reflected back at her. As far as the staff goes, her fellow workers have been begging me to fire her for the past 10 days. She became a liability to the business, not an asset, so it was pleasurable cutting off the dead weight.
A "cold simple text message ?"

Oh, I've got the guts, but she's still in Florida, so its a little difficult to tell someone who's disappeared face to face!

I never knew there were so many school aged kids in the local area. Apparently bike, scooter etc accident cases are up at the hospital.

You defied a state order to shut down and then fired an employee for not helping you defy the state order.

It's still not recommended for the over 60 with health problems so we have many hugs to look forward to. Soon hopefully!! We see my daughter and granddaughter several times a week. There are very few positive cases in our area...two counties...and only one death. No one we know has the virus, and so we tend to be more lax around here. The hubby went to a newly opened department store yesterday and bought a wreath for the front door, towels, and bath rugs. Nothing we absolutely needed. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) He just wanted to get out of the house. He did wear a mask as required. Department stores and a few other stores opened around here a few days ago. No bars or restaurants, hair or nail salons yet. I can't help thinking things will pick up again and we might be on a strict lockdown. In that case, I had better go grocery shopping. We decided to order oil for the furnace while it's cheaper than normal.

Can anyone say that busyness should return to normal? No... Because were all in fear. We think fear is the new path to excellence. In fact, were such cowards.

State state state state state .... The State is ruining the state right now. Actually, -I agree Lee. It is true because a part of the State, -the executive branch of the State, -the leader in the White House, -did not do the job of the Presidency which the Preamble to the United States Constitution states is part of the duty of such a leader, to "promote the general welfare" of the people.
Instead Trump reneged on his duties as Head of State and caused each state within the State to go it alone, putting each state in competition with one another
Preamble:
“We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect Union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”.

Over 150,000 people HAVE died from Covid, -and I don't see a vigilante group storming the White House with pitch forks & torches.

eared face to face!
I was wondering why "her fellow workers have been begging (you) to fire her" since she wasn't even there to annoy them in any way.
Then I realized that no doubt your "staff" are so sick & tired of hearing you belly-aching about her all day long and they were hoping that you would just shut the hell up if you just got it out of your system.

No, just a practical businessman... And business waits for no man (or woman).

She annoyed everyone because they were all working double time to cover for her sorry lazy a$$, they've even called her and begged her to return to work. When I told them yesterday that I fired her, their response was, "Good, she was a worthless piece of crap". No one liked an irresponsible employee who became a burden on everyone she worked with.
When I text her that I hired someone to replace her and requested that she turn in her key, her responding text was, " Please don't fire me". My reply was, " You no longer work for me, your new boss is that Chicago Leprecon who's implemented Gestapo tactics to destroy small businesses across the state, so go brown nose that little socialist"... I suspect I ruined cocktail hour for her on Daytona Beach?
