My Catholic friends says the bread and wine literally turns in to Christ's blood and body when consumed by the believer. I don't know if this is what the Catholic church teaches or not. That's exactly what the church teaches. Interesting little conversation from the movie "Gandhi": Hindu: Are you a Christian? Christian: I am. Hindu: My aunt is a Christian. Christian: Oh. Hindu: She drinks blood. Christian: What? Hindu: Blood of Christ. Every Sunday.

Did you drink the blood of Jesus in every Sunday worship meeting when you were professing as a 2x2 for over 50 years?

No. I did not. I sipped grape juice. Why, grape juice? and NOT the blood of Jesus. We had already squeezed Jesus dry by then.

A nutter is much better than a goner! Nathan, -perhaps you are both a "nutter" and a "goner. "** Jesus tells us who are the goners! In Luke 16 The Rich man or unbelievers= The exes 2x2 atheists.

** BobW. Did you drink the blood of Jesus in every Sunday worship meeting when you were professing as a 2x2 for over 50 years? Do you drink blood like a Catholic? Heck no, Jesus used the bread and wine as a Sunday morning memorial worship/service/fellowship to remind the believers of His teachings/life to the inner man, His Death for our sins and the power of the cleansing Blood for our sins and the resurrection day/bodies which one of these days we will receive once He returns as King of kings on the earth soon. The bread/teachings are foods to our spiritual souls when we apply it and the Wine is a symbol of his blood Power to forgive our past, present, and daily sins we have committed against others and God. NO, drinking blood of Jesus! there is no Jesus blood for anyone to drink today. Drinking blood is against the law in the Old and New Testament.... So, Jesus replaced His real blood with Bread and Wine for the 1st day of the week to worship the Godhead= God the Father, Christ our God and Savior, and the Holy Spirit. Paul wrote in I Cor. 11: 23-29 I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves.
