Thats terrific Ross, I love hearing when people are happy in their church, I myself try to be a Christian too, that's my 'religion' and ever since I can remember I have always stated that, it used to cause a few raised eyebrows from others that simply named a particular church, but when I was in high school there was a wonderful Christian youth group run and attended by many different denominations........we all used to say our religion was Christian........it was so refreshing....no more raised eyebrows!!!!

When I was asked verbally, I simply stated "I believe in Christ, have no other name." A little more difficult when filling out forms, then I wrote "belief in Christ,, not Roman Catholic." Surely we all have/had our own ways of responding, equally reasonable.
ADDED: wow, pm-er, that was fast! Public answer: The only reason I ever expressed "not Roman Catholic" was so that priests would not be called upon to perform their last rites. No other reason.

Yes, totally agree with you. A guy at work this morning (who I know is a Christian) told me about a fortnightly Bible study at my work (1300 folk in the building) and 8 or 9 including some who are looking at the Christian faith were coming along. He invited me. A wonderful thing when God can move hearts and lives in this way. Ross ~ My first exposure to other Christians after some months after leaving the 2x2's was a Bible study at work during lunch break. It was something God used to help me move on and was just what I needed back in time.

Mary, Pardon me from stopping by on the 'exes' board, but somehow that's not how I read the home page. What did you read on the "home page?"

This board is about the 2x2s not the Anglcan Church. Who knows, Ross may even speak out against issues in his or other churches. These boards were originally set up to discuss issues about the 2x2s, for want if a better name, of which a large number, in fact nearly all were people who had left meetings. Now it gets suggested at times that we don't get concerned about things from our former church or come here to post. I feel at times professing people would sooner see us leave. If they want to join in then that's great but don't suggest people like Ross don't concern himself with issues for which the board was set up. In fact nearly all were people who had left meetings.....is not that then an exes board. Yet on the home page it tells of the admin, which is also quite different to what you suggest!

It is for ins and outs. I never suggested otherwise. I said the board was set up to discuss issues pertaining to the 2x2 church. How is that contrary to the homepage? And yes most until recently have been exes.
This is what it says: Welcome to Truth Meetings Board. This message board discusses meetings in the home, a homeless 2X2 ministry called "The Work", annual conventions on farms and a fellowship with no name. This is the church of George Walker, John Hardie, Willie Jamieson, Jack Carroll, and William Irvine. Many professing people feel it is a continuation of the New Testament meetings and ministry. Some also feel "Truth" is the only true/right church.

Howitis, you seem to have an issue with ex's, now I maybe wrong in saying that but that is the impression I get. Do you ever wonder why people become "ex's" ?

Quote - "On Friday 20th March 2015, Noel Roy Harvey, ex 2x2 worker and convicted child sex offender, was quietly “re-baptised” by a senior 2x2 minister in Mudgee, New South Wales."
I find this sort of gossip personally weak. The argument it is trying to prop up is weak. Exceptions don't prove the rule. I would never judge a church by those who break its rules.

Do you know how many children he abused, who he has not apologized to ? Clyde should be ashamed to re-baptise him, it makes a mockery of everything they are suppose to believe ! After all they knew what was happening in the 70's and done nothing to stop it ! Like the worker in QLD who said that a man on bail for CSA could go to Convention.

No I don't have an issue with exes Ros, I've been there, and still have much to do with many exe's. I believe its a place where some get to.......some are happy there, some are bitter........some have more reason perhaps than others than bitterness and yes CSA was dealt with badly by churches period, not just the 2x2's, yes they should have known better, and yes there's still a lot of hurt out there. Hurting and bitterness will not give us salvation only Jesus can do that for us with this in mind let us keep Him always in our vision, let Him be our role model and let us think less of ourselves, our hurt and less of what others are doing that may seem so wrong in our eyes, looking instead to the author and finisher of our faith, not the author of a book or a religion, but our personal faith!!!
