Thank you for your kind comments. I'm reassured that I seem to have got most of the 8 points correct. It is unfortunate however that you won't divulge what it is you prayed for but I do respect that. However I'm sure you will understand the difficulty I would have in providing a plausible alternative explanation for [what you believe is] your prayer being answered when you won't divulge what it is that you prayed for. Matt10 I dont have a problem at all divulging diffrrent ways of prayer to people who love the lord. I think it is wiser to leave it there. So be it. Of course you'll understand that It would be remiss of me to finish without saying that I remain 100% convinced that there is an alternative plausible explanation for what happened that doesn't involve a prayer answering God answering your prayer and that I would have provided such an explanation had I been given the opportunity. Regards. Matt10

You should step into a church that trys laying on of hands with the prayer of faith. Get them to lay hands on you and listen to how they pray.

To default to atheism is to default to ingratitude. Who can we thank for the total experience of life if its not God? I don't need to thank anyone for the total experience of life. I can just be grateful that I and it exists as it does. I don't need to know all the answers to be 100% grateful for this existence, to enjoy the beauty and awesomeness of the universe I exist in. That's the difference I suppose. Some people need to know who they are being grateful to. I am just grateful. Grateful to whom, the creation?

I think, as you said I've posted my beliefs enough. And no, you haven't upset me. And yes I fully understand that I will get questioned on a public forum. But if you go back and read the post again, rational was asking you about your beliefs in God. Not me, I've answered what he asked me. I'm glad that I haven't upset you. That certainly wasn't my intention. And I am aware that rational is questioning my beliefs and I fully intend to respond to him. One has to consider very carefully how one responds to rational. Rational carries around with him a very large foolometer and he will not hesitate to use it if he feels it is warranted. Matt10 Yes! Thanks be that someone carries around a foolometer that helps us all keep to some kind of critical thinking! (Although it doesn't seem to help some people)

ehum.. If I did this: "Get them to lay hands on you and listen to how they pray."
I wonder what would happen if I only said I had a certain disease? Would they be able to know I really didn't have the disease?
First, who was it that diagnosed your daughter as having Wilson's disease? What symptoms did she have? Definition Wilson's disease is a rare inherited disorder that causes too much copper to accumulate in your liver, brain and other vital organs. Symptoms typically begin between the ages of 12 and 23. Mayo clinic news-letter Second, Did your daughter have any medical treatment or was prayer the only thing used to treat her?

If you can't answer those easily without a lot of effort, what do I have to assume? That you can't answer them? If you don't want to repeat her story will you point me to your daughter's account that you gave before?
PS: I wouldn't expect any different reaction in trying a "church that lays on of hands" than trying to get an positive result from a seer or fortune teller.

No you didnt say I was silly. Some comments are made about christians on this site that by implication we dont have it all together. Please refrain from suggesting that it is difficult for me to speak. You are free to assume whatever you like. There was a series of tests over 18mths including a biopsy. You responded the first time I told of it. You need to understand that prayer to us is an automatic response to any concern we have about anything in our lives that dont run smoothly. It is who we are.

The pastor who often prayed for bad backs prayed for her.

No you didnt say I was silly. Some comments are made about christians on this site that by implication we dont have it all together. This is not untrue. When asked specific question getting answers is sometimes like getting blood from a rock. That and the fact that since I have known you, your beliefs have changed a number of times. And yoiu need to understand that just because you give an automatic response and there are some times when the automatic response correlates with a change there are many other times when it does not. You 'proof' seems to be nothing more than selection bias.

Im glad I did because I recieved healing in my back. I hadnt asked for it. I too have suffered with back pain due to a vertebra I cracked when I was 12. I had treatments and drugs but nothing worker very long. Then, about 3-4 years ago, the pain went away and I have been pain free since. Needless to say, I did not pray or seek paranormal healing. Sometimes these things happen. Some people might attribute this to god. That doesn't make it so. My pain is also gone. This proves nothing except your pain is gone. I think you mentioned that your pain returns, from time to time. To what do you attribute that?

I was referring to the healing in my back Not the current injuries.

Grateful to whom, the creation? Just grateful I am alive. That's good. Faced squarely, life is a daunting proposition. For the record I'm not a fan of existential gratitude. Existential gratitude is a case of imputing the qualities of the creator to the creation.

I am a nurse & I think these two questions is apt!
Perhaps prayer "is an automatic response" for you, but that doesn't mean the prayer was what healed her! One more question that you may not want to answer.
"Did your daughter have medical treatment for her disease?"

That was what you were supposed to see happen!
"Faith healers" are charlatans, falsely claiming to have a special knowledge or skill! They are very clever!
"Lengthening a leg" is a piece of cake for them.
Just take a look at James Randi: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBpiV72pLAo

I know you are a nurse. Some of the symptoms were vomiting pain nausea. Doc suspected Wilsons disease. There were many blood tests spaced apart. Months later a liver biopsy revealed a fatty liver. Ruling out Wilsons disease. No medication. She began taking milk thistle. It was 18mths before she was told there was no Wilsons disease. During which time we believed for a good report. Her liver is healthy.

You need facts to sort the good from the bad, even in issues of faith. People like Peter Popoff and Benny Hinn take millions from the people they claim to help/heal - people who can least afford to give their money to frauds. When you are told by someone you trust that the demon causing your cancer has been driven out in the name of Jesus, with a big show and a lot of drama, and you stop getting the treatments that actually work you, it brings harm. And they both claim to be able to lengthen legs!

Thats like grouping radical jjhadist with ordinary moslem people. The pastor only took wages and was not like a telly evangelist. When the lady asked for prayer he simply did his job. I dislike the way your attitude is so critical judgemental and you always think you are right. The way the atheists judge christians on this site shows me what it could end up like in the market place for christians in the future. Lumping all christians with a few. Scathing comments. Nasty attotudes. When people do good for humanity. Instead of seeing it as good and accepting that. Atheists look for any piece of dirt always relying on another persons quote. Rarely from their own life experience. Without faith we cant please god. You knock faith every opportunity. Why? What have christians ever done to you? Disagreed?
Then when we answer your questions you say. Im trying to understand. Fwiw I question that simply because you will never understand without faith.
