Now, I have never heard the slightest whisper of impropriety by Dale in regards to conduct towards any other human being in a personal sense. So I am left wondering WHY. WHY? WHY would he ever cover for misconduct and wrongdoing by others, which he so clearly has done. WHY? If he was a predator, covering for other predators, it would make sense, but that does not seem to be the case. Is the image of the Church so important to him, that he would excuse wrongdoing in order to protect it? Why would he ever imagine that God would be okay with that? Or??? Still wondering. Still scratching my head. It seems that the higher up the hierarchy they climb the more political they become. CSA splits families and communities, while overseers are focused on preserving unity. It's a conflict of interest. Power corrupts those who love it.

IMO, there is NOTHING else that matters more than your "deep conviction before God". It precisely encapsulates why I am no longer a member. I would take that one step further. In my exiting years, I would frequently express "I would defy God himself, if I thought he was wrong." Which, of course, is absurd. But it expressed how deeply committed I am to Truth (whatever that is). Damn the consequences. I still stand solidly there. No regrets. None.I don't get that? The embolden sounds like something Satan would say? Do you still feel that way? It seems to contradict your first sentence. It only sounds like something Satan would say if you believe that salvation is exclusively through the workers. In essence, she is pointing out that Shultz is on record as saying that the friends are right to obey him, even when he is wrong. He's on record as holding to that belief.

And he's not the only one to hold to that belief. I have had it said to my face by a now senior worker, who insisted I obey him, over a trivial matter, when he was clearly in the wrong. He got over-ruled by the worker in-charge of the convention. He then preached a similar message in a Gospel meeting that I was in. Obviously the Holy Spirit gave him the message....not

I really have to wonder why he hasn't been forced to step down along with Barkley and Hoffman on the east coast. Also Affleck and other overseers on the west coast that have really mishandled predators. I don't know all the details of any of these names cases, but I think they're going to remain comfortable in their places until there is a guilty verdict for some perpetrator they have known about under their watch and they didn't report the perpetrator to the law. It would be easier to prosecute them after there is established proof that the ones they let pass were actually proven guilty too. I agree. It will be much easier. The point is that they aren't voluntarily stepping down for doing what they did. It is time for the friends to start a class action suit against the ministry. So many people are suffering, starting therapy because of what has been exposed and they are having to pay for their therapy.
