I heard Steve Blubaugh is starting his own religion in Canada. I doubt that. I would doubt almost everything that people relate about what they heard about someone.

RE GLee: I would doubt the reliable source unless the source was a direct conversation with Steve and/or Gary that has been related here accurately.
What if I had a copy of a revealing letter Gary wrote someone in OZ? Given to me by the Receiver of the letter. Would that make the grade with you, Greg?

I don't believe either of the men concerned would be classed as "professing" in the F&W's way.

Be very careful in what you say, listen to and pass on.
If you have doubts, go to God in prayer and ask him.
18 Matt V6 "But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea".

I heard, from a very reliable source, that these two are a bit on the wild side. They are into new age and Reiki. They are heavy into angels and know angels by name. (Not just the common ones.) One believes himself to be a holy prophet and has direct contact with God. God has even revealed his "real" name to him. While I haven't met these men, it sounds pretty spooky to me. I hear one is looking for a place to stay in the southwestern US. I hope vulnerable exes will beware if this is as funky as it sounded like when relayed to me. This sounds vaguely familiar to something that was going on in the western states a few years ago, doesn't it? Does anyone else remember that? I think then (in the 90s) it centered in Montana??? but involved people in many western states(innies). I just heard bits and sketches, just like this time. Happy So someone who doesn't fit in with your 'narrow' 2x2 box is 'wild'? - Isn't it interesting how we immediately put up barriers (and in the case of some like Aristotle - threaten him with death for daring to suggest that the world was round) when someone doesn't appear to fit the mould. We are happy to talk and preach all about the various ones in the bible who had a connection with God etc but do not truly believe it can happen today. Can you imagine the stir when Peter had the vision of the sheet coming down from heaven and went and told the others about going to the gentiles - imagine the stir that would cause within the 2x2's now if someone came with a message as radical as that - . Especially when he was staying with a Tanner (these were despised because they dealt with dead animal skins) - he would be ex-communicated as a nutter immediately. Standing back from a distance I see that many of the 2x2's are no different from the close minded Pharisee's of Jesus' day in that they believe that nothing must change and that if we are not already doing it - it can't be right. Most would herald William Irvine for having the courage to honour his conviction and leave the faith mission and the methodist church to preach as a homeless minister and yet will abuse (yes I said abuse) any who are honest enough to actually listen to the 'still small voice' within and seek to know of the leading of God for themselves and then have the conviction to follow it. I find it interesting that the critics of these two men are all people who have never met them and are relying on 'True gossip' or else have read 'letters' for which there are various 'full' or 'abridged' versions - how can one 'genuine' letter have an abridged version? I have no knowledge of the situation in Montana but feel sure they are probably living spiritually fulfilling lives, with a true relationship with God and being free from the anti-christ which is so often apparent within the 2x2 'system'. Jesus said 'by their fruits you will know them' - I have read many reports on this board which testify to the evidence of the 'fruit of the spirit' in these men. However I also see evidence of the works of the flesh working in some of the 'postees'. John 3 V 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

My narrow Christian box doesn't have room for New Age things that take the importance of Christ out of the picture. I believe in miracles and the power of God in individuals who are Christians and not worshippers of other gods.

Happy, you are assuming that 'they' have taken the importance of Christ out of the picture - assuming makes an ass out of you & me I happen to know that Christ is very much in the picture. and that 'they' believe there is only one true God.

The holy prophet. the followers. Children of the divine light. Ho-ly - 1. Belonging to, derived from, or associated with a divine power; sacred. 2. Regarded with or worthy of worship or veneration; revered: a holy book. 3. Living according to a strict or highly moral religious or spiritual system; saintly: a holy person. 3. Specified or set apart for a religious purpose: a holy place. 4. Solemnly undertaken; sacrosanct: a holy pledge. 5. Regarded as deserving special respect or reverence: The pursuit of peace is our holiest quest. Proph-et - 1. A person who speaks by divine inspiration or as the interpreter through whom the will of a god is expressed. 2. A person gifted with profound moral insight and exceptional powers of expression. Wouldn't every 'worker' and for that matter everyone who speaks (prophesies) in a mtg, or anywhere else with Gods presence & spirit, be classified as a holy prophet?. Followers - (of Christ) & Children of the divine light - I would sincerely hope we are all in these categories.

You failed to state the source for the above definitions? A Websters dictionary or similar would not give the Biblical definition, but rather the current definition that evolved through etomyology over the years. Isn't the real question: How does the Bible define a propet?
PROPHETS WERE CALLED & CHOSEN BY GOD: A person did not volunteer to be a prophet--prophets were handpicked by God. "For the prophecy came NOT in old time BY THE WILL OF MAN: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost," 2 Pet 1:21. "I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was an herdman, and a gatherer of sycamore fruit...and the LORD said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel..." Amos 7:14-15. It was such a memorable event when God chose and approached the prophet-to-be, that many wrote about it: "...the word of the LORD which came:" to Samuel, to Ezekiel, to Hosea, to Joel, to Jonah, to Micah, to Zephaniah; to Haggai, to Zechariah. (Also Jer. 14:14; 23:21).
PROPHETS WERE SPOKESMEN FOR GOD: The prophets were God's mouthpieces; messengers God called and sent with His messages to men. God communicated through the prophets. "I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD..." Eze 2:4. Over 900 times in the Bible, the prophets introduced God's messages with: "Thus saith the Lord..." God literally put His words in His prophets' mouths. "...the LORD said... thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak...Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth," Jer 1:7-9. "And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD? Now therefore go, and I (God) will be with thy (Moses) mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say," Ex 4:11-12. (Also Deut 18:19; Is 51:15-16; Eze 3:10-11; Mark 13:10-11; Acts 3:21)
PROPHETS WERE CONFIRMED BY SIGNS & WONDERS: The Israelites knew that "God ALONE doeth great wonders..." Ps 136:4. The prophets' messages were accompanied by miracles, tokens, signs and wonders. And Isaiah said, "This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?" 2 Kgs 20:9. Signs also accompanied the apostles' messages. "...they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following," Mark 16:19-20. (Also John 6:29-31; Acts 2:22, 5:12, 2 Cor 12:12; Ex 4:17; Jos 3:7; Dan 6:27) God didn't leave any room to doubt whether or not a prophet was truly HIS prophet. Their credentials were far from dubious. "For if the trumpet (prophet?) give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?" 1 Cor 14:8.
THE PROPHETS WERE RECEIVERS OF REVELATIONS: "...I the LORD will make myself known unto him (the prophet) in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream," Num 12:6. God disclosed revelations to the prophets, who were both foretellers and forthtellers.
PROPHETS WERE DELIVERERS OF PROPHECY: Prophecy starts with a revelation. When an event came to pass that a prophet had predicted, it established a true prophet's reputation. "And when this cometh to pass...then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them," Eze 33:33, 2:5. Fulfilled prophecy not only validated the messenger, but also proved its source and originator was God. "...and when this cometh, ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD," Eze 24:24, Ex 10:2. (Also Ex 6:7, 9:29; 1 Kgs 18:39, Eze 6:10, 37:14).
PROPHETS WERE KNOWN BY THEIR FRUIT: "Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit, Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." Mat 7:16-20
"Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Can the fig tree...bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh." Jas 3:11-12
PROPHETS' WORDS AGREED WITH WRITTEN SCRIPTURE: A prophet's words spoken in the name of the Lord never conflicted with the Scripture.
"To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them," Is 8:20.
"And to this agree the words of the prophets; as it is written..." Acts 15:15; (see also 2 Pet 3:2).
"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation," 2 Pet 1:20.
PROPHETS' AUTHORITY WAS GIVEN BY GOD: Disaster fell on those who dared to murmur at God's prophets. "...wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?" Num 12:8. When Korah and his men rose up against Moses and Aaron, the Lord left no doubt WHO gave Moses and Aaron their authority and anointing when Aaron's rod budded; and Korah and all his men were annihilated when the earth opened... "and swallowed them up, and their houses...and all their goods...went down alive into the pit...and they perished from among the congregation," Num 16:1-50. The prophets' authority came from God, and clearly, it doesn't pay to trifle with God's chosen prophets!
PROPHETS WERE WISE & ACCURATE: True prophets' reputations were established partly by their perfect accuracy. "Behold now, there is in this city a man of God, (prophet) and he is an honorable man; ALL that he saith cometh surely to pass," 1 Sam 9:6. ALL the predictions, curses, blessings of a true prophet ALWAYS came to pass. How could it be otherwise? God initiated the prophet's message, and "God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?" Num 23:19. The message validated the messenger of God. "For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist," Luke 21:15.
SOME PROPHETS WERE FALSE PROPHETS: Only a false prophet can speak lies in the name of the Lord, for God controlled His true prophet's mouth, mind, words, messages, actions for their entire life. "Thus saith the Lord...that confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers..." Is 44:24-26. "Know now that there shall fall unto the earth NOTHING of the word of the LORD...for the LORD hath done that which he spake by his servant Elijah," 2 Kgs 10:10.
It only took one false prophecy to sentence a false prophet to death (Deut 13:5, 18:20) "Hearken NOT unto the words of the (false) prophets...they speak a vision of their own heart, and NOT out of the mouth of the Lord...I sent them not, nor commanded them; therefore, they (false prophets) shall not profit this people AT ALL," Jer 23:16, 32.
"...prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy...out of their own hearts...Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing!...They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope... Therefore...Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies ...I am against you..." Eze 13:1-13.
THE PROPHET'S TEST: The Israelites asked in Deut 18:21-22: "How may we know the word which the Lord has NOT spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously." The test of time proved a prophet. A true prophet made only 100% accurate statements and predictions.

John 10:34
Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?
"a magistrate; by Hebraism, very: exceeding, God, god(-ly, -ward). "
##################################
Psalm 82 1 God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.
2 How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.
3 Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.
4 Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.
5 They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.
6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
7 But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
8 Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
"Magistrate" fits the context of both NT and OT verses.

I'm reminded of a story of a person talking about someone else and finishes with "...I better stop there because I have already told you more than I know." We don't know anything about anybody unless that anybody tell us his/herself and we can trust them to tell us the truth. Even then at best all one could say is "So-so told me her/hisself that s/he ...." As the saying goes, believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see.

PS "hisself" isn't a word.
