psy·cho·sis /sīˈkōsəs/Submit noun a severe mental disorder in which thought and emotions are so impaired that contact is lost with external reality. Hi, It seems like prayer is a human “condition” , even amongst many unbelievers, and agree that we are all crazy -in different ways . Physchotic ? Science doesn’t make that conclusion , but I can understand why one would believe it to be so ,in spite of that . Everybody’s crazy , except you and me , and sometimes I wonder about you . Lol Cheers, Alvin www.google.ca/amp/s/www.psychologytoday.com/ca/blog/pray-me/201309/do-atheists-pray%3fampDo atheists and agnostics pray? Yes, indeedy. Quite a bit it turns out. Six percent of them pray every day, we’re told by the Pew Research Center. And 11 percent pray weekly or monthly. If no one is there, you might ask, who are they praying to? Let me guess. The air. The universe. The self. Maybe. Or theirs might be the kinds of prayer that don’t need a recipient. They could be a feeling of awe. A sense of the numinous. An upwelling of peace brought on by nature. A moment of transcendence in the presence of music or art. Or simply a moment of felt stillness.

Atheists don't pray. Enjoying a sunset isn't praying. I'm not sure why theists try so hard to make atheists just like them. We don't talk to an invisible man in the sky and we don't hear voices from an invisible man in the sky unless the atheist is schizophrenic. Religion might bring comfort to those who are okay with believing in something for which faith is required, but it brings no comfort to those who require facts. We are different in that regard. Wrong or right, we need more to accept things. If faith brings you comfort, fine, that's good imo. But it doesn't work for everyone. But that doesn't mean we are less moral or inferior to theists. We are just made different. Lots of people are beginning to realize that they need more than faith to believe. Religion isn't a one size fits all. The many thousands of religions and denominations within religions prove that. Religious beliefs do not make theists superior. We are all different and need different things in our lives. There are good an bad in both groups. We are all just humans trying to make sense of life. I just happen to like mine based on more up to date data that can be changed if it's found to be wrong. It doesn't make me bad or good, it just makes me 'me'.

Enuf, a newspaper article, hardly reference information that would be accepted in an assignment. Alvin posted an article from Psychology Today, did that help. Mine was just the first article that came up when I did a search. Also my years of working in the field with considerable professional development and peer reviews.

The Subject is,
" Graham Snow assumes 2x2 church leadership in Australia."
NOT what theories every body else has of their own thoughts and beliefs which is totally irrelevant .
Please keep to the facts of the subject only.

He has spoken very forcefully at West Australian conventions about Jesus bringing a new and better way. And only two ‘laws’. He constantly said love, not rules. Also mentioned that the word standard was not mentioned in the bible. If that is taken on board, there may be hope for new and better things. Most everyone on TMB would welcome more emphasis in the fellowship on love rather than rules. The change in emphasis in New Zealand is appreciated by many.

A very practical approach to living your life using love, not rules. It is interesting that GS wants to get rid of silly rules, and Speak maintains that there aren't any rules. We all experienced that there were many rules, it is just that they forgot to document them.

The word Standard is used 18 times in the Old Testament but NOT in the New Testament.
ie. Isaiah 49:22
22 Thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, and set up MY STANDARD to the people: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders.

The people who have been an inspiration to me practiced high moral standards. They were not necessarily religious.
Morality demands integrity of all who govern their lives by high moral standards. Moral integrity is having courage and self-discipline to live by one's inner truth. It is a function of feeling whole, total, entire, complete.

Yes, a standard is a flag or a banner. Love is the kingdom's standard.

True Love is the kingdom's banner. But the reference to standard in Isaiah 49:22 is God foretelling that Christ will be MY STANDARD to the people.

Dear Friendly67 ,Ol' Walter Pickering said we should not become overwelmed by the poor,'cause that is why you pay "Tax". Lazy unbiblical statement, wouldn't you say? So unless Bishop Snow does not publicaly apologise for the decades of child destroying Paedophelias amongst the Bro/Sister workers and prove that all still believed to be that way mentally inclined will be ripped out of the 2x2 Preacher only sects ministry,God will stay home, until He or someone does. Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with the 2x2 way more so than other religions, isn't there?

We all experienced that there were many rules, it is just that they forgot to document them. Love the Lord thy God with all.......... And thy neighbour as yourself. These are standards set by Jesus, these are not suggestions but are set as a requirement, some could say set in Holy law. Many on here seem to think that they can be christian and follow the own set of standards. Yes I do maintain there are no rules as the world sees rules, I see them as standards which God uses to guide us in our walk.

We have not done murder, we have not used extortion, we have not used threat of death, we have not stripped communities of their wealth, we have not turned them into slaves the way other religions have.

Well I am sure there are families whose parents left their whole estates to the workers who would disagree with you speak ! The 2x2 church has nothing to hold its head too high about in regard to CSA or lies that have been told about the begin of the so called "way" !

I suppose the dark can be comfortable if you would rather not see things as they really are.
