Australian gospel and fellowship meetings stopped a couple of weeks ago.
Workers had intended to stay in their fields until meetings resumed.
However, as more restrictions have been placed on movement in society, workers have been asked by the local head workers to go back to their families if that is possible or find a home that they can stay at indefinitely without being a financial burden.
Last night, the Federal Government introduced the Rule of 2 - if an Australian is outside of their home with non-family they must only be with a maximum of one other person at any time. This makes it now illegal for 2 workers to go and visit anyone together.
Interesting times - stay safe!

The directive came from Graham Snow (Overseer of Australia) and Wayne Dean (Overseer of NSW) late last week. Most workers returned to their families or to a home in which they could stay for however long it takes for things to settle back to normal. It seems quite sensible as whilst one worker could visit with one other person, they could not conduct that visit together under the new Federal Government rule designed to slow the spread of the virus. It seems Graham Snow/Wayne Dean are concerned that workers (a) not spread the virus unwittingly given that most friends are over 60 in this country - a higher risk part of the population and (b) do not place any financial burden on families who may lose or already have lost their job or suffered income loss. The Prime Minister has stated on a number of occasions that he expects restrictive measures like this to be in place for six months so that pretty much takes it up to Australian conventions. There would be no need to cancel Conventions at this point but Special Meetings have been cancelled as public gatherings are banned.

One of our overseers has settled in at the convention ground in SC and none of the workers are moving around much.

Yes, it is NOT good for the companions workers to move from homes to homes during this Corona Crisis because they can spread the Virus to the elderly friends easily. When I was in the work sometimes we split up because certain homes couldn't support us both and we didn't want to put a burden on them. Some homes we just go there for suppers and NOT stay for the nights.
The workers without families can find wealthy friends homes in the field can help the two workers for a month without put a burden on the friends. They can make a lot of phone calls from where they stay and check out different friends in the fields. Once there is a vaccine, the works are back to the normal schedule.

What are some of the reasons for the overseers to say the workers are NOT to move around much? How long or many dayds should the workers stay in a home? In the west coast when I was in the work we stay 2 or 3 days in each home because we didn't want too much burden and stress on the friends and feel unwelcome guests if we stayed too long there.

Maybe God will help them get unemployment benefits.

You would wonder how Satan could put God's servants out of a job. Maybe God will help them get unemployment benefits. The workers get many roofs over their heads and plenty foods to eat no matters how high the unemployment is, the friends will take care of them. Jesus said He will take care of them, like he did with the birds in the air and the flowers in the fields.
Jesus said to his apostles/servants Matthew 19:19-25 27 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore? And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

What does the bible say workers should do when there is a coronavirus lockdown?

What does the bible say workers should do when there is a coronavirus lockdown? The Bible was Canonized by the RCC in the 4th century 2000 years ago, there was no such thing as Coronavirus back then. This is 21st century, God gives the workers brains, right? God wants the workers to use the brains He has given them wisely! Obey the law of the lands. Be safe Stay homes! Until it's safe for them to move from house to house so they don't pass the virus to the friends.

The retired workers are taken care of one way or another either by their own families or nursing homes money using from the friends trust fund or the gov't pension... some places they have nursing homes run by the friends for the retired workers to live in the United States. The retired workers will NOT live on the street or under the bridge for sure.

Wally there is no way the verse you quoted has anything to do with current situation. Covid-19 could hardly be called a temptation. I know that 2x2's are good at making any verse fit any situation. But it does not make good sense.

Once they are unable to preach, the system that has supported them, for most of their lives, seems to drop them like a hot potato.

I have no idea what is meant by that in reference to Covid-19, but I can't fault the way the Australian workers have both followed and communicated the rules during these times. My suggestion now would be for them to embrace online video chat to people in their fields instead of in person visits. The younger ones could already be doing that for all I know!

A good opportunity to do voluntary work in the community looking after the community. This present emergency has produced many such opportunities. Or, with a car, they can run essential errands for the older friends, taking them for hospital appointments, doctors, get their shopping etc. Other churches are organising themselves in such ways.

Wally they would just say, "Get behind me Satan" and he would piss off. hopefully, but in general not the way it always goes.... Wally this isn't just happening to the workers. Everything is not about them. When you live an unnatural lifestyle like they do, when something like this happens it's going to be tough for them, as they don't have jobs, family etc. I am glad the friends are able and willing to help and their families also. But why this has anything to do with satan is beyond my understanding.

Understand that verse now Wally, I missed the "Get Out Clause"." but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it."
Its OK to leave, nothing to do with Satan.
