I wonder how they will respond? Will they excommunicate anyone who mentions watching the video? Allan Kitto is discussed at length for his handling of some cases.

I think workers all over the world will be watching 60 minutes but of course not on a tv!

I think workers all over the world will be watching 60 minutes but of course not on a tv! Gross. You just know they will prepare how to handle questions from the friends about this. Friends will soak it right up. I say this with genuine pain for family and friends, whom I respect, and for everyone in the bubble.

They will be relying on 99% not knowing about it, let alone not seeing it.

I think most know about it, the 2x2 grapevine is very efficient. Was working well, long before social media. Think many of them would be busy on their computers and i phones. Almost 170,000 hits on the You Tube site in 2 days, somebody is watching.

That's where they will access it and on smart phones. I think most will watch it except maybe those who don't do anything to defy the workers. Also the very elderly that may not use computers or smart phones.

Sad, sad, sad. A few bad apples, as they say can spoil the whole lot. But I don't think that will happen. We have enough good and sincere workers who have been working for some time to correct this problem. Catholics still have not fixed their problem. I think they are trying though. We will get this corrected.

We will get this corrected. What makes you think you will get this corrected other than wishful thinking? Has the 2x2 church now abandoned its policy of denial and deflection of the last few decades and is now committed to making addressing CSA and the the needs of victims the priority rather than protecting the institution? I note that you put it down to a “few bad apples” and I wonder on what basis? The ‘few bad apples’ approach has been identified as a form of deflection by institutions and was the approach taken by the Catholic Church (paedophilic priests) in response to CSA but of course the truth turned out to be something rather different and it was in fact systemic. The “few bad apples” approach has been identified as an approach which serves to protect institutions from deeper scrutiny, as they just have to ‘keep the bad men out’. Brackenridge and Hartill (2013, p.243) This begs the question as to how the 2x2 church plans to ‘keep the bad men out’ given that its record to date on this has been worse than hopeless. Not only have they not kept the bad men out, even after realising that the bad men are in, they have historically gone to great lengths to subsequently keep them there. And given that it is without question that the bad men inevitably do get in (unknowingly), how does the 2x2 church plan to keep children safe in the future if it serious about correcting this? For example does the 2x2 church still allow workers to stay over in homes where there are children? Or is forbidding home stays now seen as part of the solution? I’m afraid the “few bad apples” approach is unlikely to give anyone much confidence in the 2x2 church getting this corrected as it ignores issues around organisational culture. It is clear that (like the RCC) the 2x2 church set up lends itself to abuses of power. Indeed perpetrators are often in positions of authority. Ignoring the long history of cover ups, denials and abuses of power by those in authority in favour of putting the blame solely on the perpetrators is hardly likely to convince anyone (other than yourself) that you will get this corrected. I think workers all over the world will be watching 60 minutes but of course not on a tv! No, I don’t think so. They’re still of the mind they don’t need to watch such “persecution”. Or at least a good amount of workers and friends think they just don’t need to watch such “evil”.

But knowing younger folks, if they tell them NOT to be watching it; then they likely will, just to see what the issue is that has the powers-that-be’s underwear in a knot.

Of course not!!! Gill, they having been messing their pants for decades, lied and covered just hoping this real "TRUTH"never hits the fan . Why did Percy Watkin's suicide in the UK when a charge was brought against him? Gossip!! He did it for the (illusive?)Kingdom. Kept it from the wider community. This day has been a long way coming, many of us have fought for it for decades, and suffered because of it.. Thankyou Ross Bowden,it has now started, people in many countries are already watching the program.

If they will address and handle current and past situations would surprise me hugely. By address, I mean complete apologies and acknowledgements of every single situation and failed responsibility. This would mean throwing under the bus of some people who are not yet "in trouble." It is certainly not a case of a few bad apples. It is a case of not doing anything about the bad apples. Unless you consider the overseers and the overseers of the overseers to be included in the bad apple count.

Based on my mail and connections, most workers and professing people in Australia (with the exception of the reasonable number in their late 80’s or 90’s) have watched the program.
It is creating widespread discussion and I have no doubt there will be consequences.
You can't have a program like that go to air without some consequences.
I understand workers knew it was coming. They wouldn't have known what was in it but Allan Kitto provided a statement to the program (as was mentioned) likely within a couple of weeks of the program going to air.
In my view, Allan Kitto will be under significant pressure to step aside. Graham Snow and others may force that over coming weeks.

Yes, Allan Kitto MUST step down, then Graham Snow will appoint a new overseer that will NOT cover up the CSA within the ministry or the fellowship! That was one of the main reasons Graham S. SENT to Australia! Things must change over there or someone will go to prison.

I'm sure he was just upholding the mentality as he knew it, learned it. Is he really that different from all the other workers? I guess there needs to be a scapegoat, but I really don't think he's any more to blame for the way it was handled than the other workers. He did what he thought was expected of him and therein lies the deep problem. Look at how JF handled the CSA in his part of the States. Not much different. Until all the workers come on board, head workers are going to be just upholding what the rest of them want. Look what happened to that worker in New Zealand that talked about it from the pulpit. He is no longer a worker. So when workers do speak out against it, there is no assurance that they will be listened to or appreciated for trying to change things.

I actually agree that indeed those who do this extreme evil are a few bad apples, and definitely don't represent a culture of condoning CSA. That is always the case. The issue (that snow highlights) is that the good apples have been made to applesauce already, and those that haven't are hastily heaved from the barrel.

It goes way beyond AK and was happening in the G McNabb days! It is not just NSW it is QLD and VIC as well.

You can't have a program like that go to air without some consequences. You can in the Unchanging Way of Truth. Here is a newspaper article from 23 years ago. Does this sound familiar? When a whole generation passes and there is no change, it is time for the "decent professing people" to realize that they are just fooling themselves. Your presence is merely providing cover and camoflage for the predators that the overseers are sheltering. If you left, law enforcement would find it much easier to identify the problems and deal with the corruption and evil. Decent Friends who stay in the group are not helping

I don’t see that the attitudes here in US have changed that much. Though the JP instance was not about CSA, but sexual behavior between workers; and JP was the one who is suffering the worst for reporting the carrying on.

Time for women overseers. yeah right, a woman here in the states just got busted for having kiddie porn on her computer and also was seeking to be a babysitter for folks...we also had a woman(actress) admit guilt in a sex traffic ring recently...women can be just as evil as men are....
