I'm pretty sure my cat would eat the squirrel! My gigantic cat would be terrified of the squirrel. He saw a baby squirrel in the garage last year and wouldn't go back in the garage for weeks. Sigh. Watch cat...sure. As I have said many times, your cat would be more successful without the red shoes! But not in the eyes of my grandchildren!

Rational if you want to play games, that is fine by me. It is your prerogative, but it will not be at my expense. I have better things to do, go play with somebody else. I am not sure of the game so may be fumbling a bit with your rules. Well, I hope you were not too bored with your reading. I try to add small points of interest when I can. This presents problems at a number of levels. I am not sure I could play the part of a worker but I have been accused of such a number of times. I thought about the accusations for a bit but the furrowing of my brow was causing age related wrinkles and I was all set in that department. A few words of advice for those who do not like being played as fools - Be skeptical and question things that do not seem to ring true.I think that people need to take responsibility for their lives and their actions. Scape goats are nice to have but at the end of the day they solve nothing. As Hamlet told Rosencrantz: Why, then, ’tis none to you, for there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so. Shakespeare - Hamlet Act2:2It seemed appropriate since they were discussing whether Denmark was a prison or not. Probably much like you were discussing walls.

Let me assure you; Rat is not a worker. He has been here a very long time and has been accused before of being undercover f&w. Not so. His posts and opinions are very consistent and atheistic in tone. Good. I was beginning to worry. This sounds right to me.

Although admittedly they do make it hard to hunt....

Thanks Emy, this old guy is more confused than ever. Somebody is playing games. I can understand how you feel. I pay little attention to who creates the post since I try to respond to the content and not the author.

Thanks Roselyn, Redback needs to take a Bex and lie down. Apologies to Rational. No need to apologize. I certainly was not offended in any way.

Is Rational a worker? I thought he was an atheist. I did too. I wonder if I have been mistaken. I once thought I had made a mistake but I was wrong... Well you are getting older and maybe you just had a senior moment!

You mean I have reached the "older and wiser" plateau and am now headed down the backside? lol... you said it not me, but if it's true, enjoy the free fall... don't forget to grab someone and pull them down with you! It's far more fun being 'unwise' with a friend!

They didn't factor in the power of a clowder of cats lurking in the background through the years.

Redback now has a red face. My Rs got mixed up. Always have trouble with my Rs. Thanks for being so gracious Rational. I'm going back to bed, going to lay low, and be more careful with my Rs.

Thanks for being so gracious Rational. I can assure you I am not showing divine grace! But I do try to be courteous, kind, and pleasant. (I think I hear snickering over in the corner!)As far as putting up a wall - I doubt I could do that. The main reason is that I'm lazy. Not that I don't think that a wall would be nice or useful because it might be a good thing if only to keep the cats out. But building a wall is a lot of work. And maintaining it is too. And they usually do not accomplish anything.

I have always felt that one of the hallmarks of maturity, and spiritual maturity especially, is to listen with respect to opposing viewpoints and not become angry. Keeping your ego out of the discussion always helps, of course. Defending your beliefs without attacking the other person's beliefs--and especially not the other person--leads to meaningful dialog from which both parties can learn. I don't care to post much anymore, as it often reminds me of a line from Buffalo Springfield's For What It's Worth: There's battle lines being drawn, Nobody's right if everybody's wrong It's nice when the exchange is more than "you're wrong and I'm right." And that can be a challenge to pull off kindly. My experience with cats is if it's something new they have to figure it out. You can't change their surroundings and think they won't notice. Good example of that is when we trimmed back a shrub in the front yard. Our cat went to the door, did a double take of the bush and immediately had to check it out. Would never have thought it would even register on his radar, but it looked different and needed checking lol...

My guy's an indoor cat only but if I move something even as small as a decorative pillow from one chair to the other, it has to be observed, smelled, and judgment pronounced upon. Nosy Parkers, for sure!

But you're right, any change must be approved lol

I still remember the time my cat got a leg caught in the handle of a plastic bag and TORE through the house, finally ending up sitting on top of the valance board over a window.

Yes, that seems to be a very intelligent solution to an incredibly complex problem.

Redback started this thread sharing how he had found peace in organising how his body is to be dealt with after his death, maybe it would be nice if we could all just take a few moments to write what gave us peace during the day, night, moment.......sometimes us being at peace with something really helps others.

Great idea howitis. The thing that gave me peace today, is the link we have via PM with the good people we find on this forum. For me it is fellowship, and I value that very much.

My peace came from knowing I had no appointments, no place I HAD to be at a certain time, a day to myself. I watched both the moon and the sun rise, took in many wonderful sights, watched a regent bower bird, stunning colours, and was able to be thankful for life, for love and loved ones. God is good to me!!! PS the phone rang and changed a few things, but God us still good!!
