Bus Tales #2
I started at 17:34 at CTrain Rundle Station .
I go outta service at 02:43 at Rundle station . 24 minutes to go . I drive by a few bars on this route . Gggrrr a passenger straight out of the bar .
Buddy gets on drunk as a skunk 🦨 . I get to station and go outta service , but he will not get outta my bus . He says he needs to go to hospital . We are right across the street from hospital . I point and he says no the hospital by the water . I am nope , I know you are talking about the Rockyview Hospital cause I have lived here all my life . I said I am outta service please leave . Nope he’s not leaving . So I call control and am informed I could be waiting for a hour for Transit Police . So I ask him to disembark from my bus . Nope , drunk and annoying and pissing me off . Call control again , nope the transit police are at a emergency . Control says perhaps you can think of something to get him off your bus .
Another 20 minutes pass . Believe me I can think of options but I would get in trouble .
So I look at buddy and see he had a single smoke in his shirt pocket .
So I suggest that we should have a smoke together outside of bus while we wait . Ya buddy says , sounds great . So I grab one of my smokes and stroll off bus. I walk him about 10 feet away from my bus wait till he lights his smoke . He lights his smoke and I run to my bus shut door, take off maxi brake and off I go !
Drive away and call control to cancel Transit Police . Pat the head controller asks what happened .
I said I didn’t touch him . I get back to garage , head in with my running board . There is a big chunk of wood 8X8X1 inch thick in where my running board goes , that says see supervisor . Oye I don’t like those . Into office I head . Sit down and he asked how I got the man off the bus , did I break a rule ! So he asks .
Nope told him exact story and he said . OMG you are just like your dad and laughs . That was a compliment to me !!!
Miss you Dad !
Hopefully the transit police had transported him to hospital , because I am last bus in to garage !
What a hoot 🦉 ........
Speaking of hoots it is time !

Route 1 the worst route ever .
But it was a fav . It was fun and challenging . You never knew what could happen on that route . Heading east bound to the worst part of Calgary .
A couple get on and head to back of bus with the really long seat . You could actually sleep on that bench .
Well the pheromones kick in .

So I wait about 2 more minutes before they start the deed . Slam on my brakes and they fall off seat and start rolling down the aisle pretty much buck naked . I nicely click the switch to open back door . They grab what they can and get off . I click the switch so door closes and drive away ! Hahahaha 🤭

Isn't wrong to hit & assault another person as rioters tend to do?
So what does violence in the form of whipping a child teach that child?
Do you think that whipping, spanking another person, -even a small other person, -teaches them what is right & wrong behaviour?
It just teaches them that the way to solve problems is by using violence and if they are bigger & stronger than the other person, that is the way to "solve" their problem!

Last bus tale for now Bus Tales #4
We have a event here every year . Called the Calgary Stampede . Largest out door rodeo in the world . Canceled in 20/20
due to COVID-19 .
So Ctrain runs 24/7 . Bus hours are added to make sure all trains are empty & all passengers on our buses or headed towards our buses for our last trip of the night , so around 3 a.m.
I was driving route #2 . Us driver’s are all weary because it lasts 10 days . Burnt 🥵 out .
So buses from downtown are cleared once trains are empty and all buses at right at places . Then we get a single horn blow and advisement we are clear to finish last leg of the route . So one night we were waiting for another bus which is lagging behind , so we are holding . Here comes two extremely drunk people . Yes they want my bus . They get on and say they have no money but need a ride and that they are from Edmonton . To which I replied sorry can’t do so , you must pay a fare . Then she said she lived in Edmonton again. My smart ass (dumb) ass ? , said so sad to hear that you live in Edmonton . Calgary and Edmonton have a rivalry around sports and such , ask Bob W . I said I am , pretty sure you gotta pay there . I also said if you had not had that last drink you would have had bus fare , and added you should be sober by the time you walk back to Edmonton . It’s a girl and guy . I call control as she is getting into my face and she is spitting on me , while yelling at me . I put them off my bus and told control . Just shut my door and waited for signal . I have three buses driven by all males behind that could help if needed . Horn goes off and we are given the announcement all clear . So
I pull out of stop 🛑 . All was great . But the next night we are sitting outside of our buses, waiting again . The route 4 operator asked me if I saw what happened last night when I pulled out . No didn’t see anything , was my reply . I guess she was trying to kick my bus . But I had already started moving . She lifts her leg towards my bus . However she misses hitting my bus because it’s moving . The other operators are laughing while filling me in . Because apparently she did unfortunately fell face first into the road . Too which I said , I wonder what will hurt the most tomorrow . When she wakes up ! Because she may have more than a hangover , pretty sure her face hurt . We laughed
(KARMA ) It is a crime to spray spit on a operator , they get charged ! Then we endure rounds of shots in case they have something transmittable
Karma is a doll !
I asked Todd to watch the tape , he allowed me to , had a laugh 😹
My bad !
FYI DRUNKS CAUSE A LOT OF PROBLEMS ON BUSES !
We don’t have to give them a ride . It’s our call .
Our bus is our office . If we went into a business and did such we would be charged !

No, I don't believe so.. If the parents of the rioters taught their children obedience, respect for the law, and to respect others, I doubt they would have broke the law or hurt other people.
Transferring violence is just a psychological excuse for acting like a maniac. i.e; I burned down this store because my Mama slapped my hand once for stealing a candy bar.
Imo, that type of song and dance is a load of baloney.

You can call it a "song and dance and a load of baloney" if you want, but it is a fact that has well proven.
I have three children and I am proud of each one.

Love and understanding produces much better results than thrashings. We had a family of four, all good and upright citizens. There Children exactly same. All without using corporal punishment. They have done us proud.

Some people enjoy a good spanking on the bare bum, laying on the bed. A good spanking session releases endorphins that give you pleasure.

Violence No, but a love tap to get their attention when verbal correction fails is good. Not every child needs it, but when all else fails, they generally respond to physical correction. "For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth." (Proverbs 3:12, Hebrews 12:6)
Its good that your kids grew-up to be good people despite your unwillingness to correct them, but what if they hadn't? When I was young, I once saw another kid take a swing at a teacher, and another time heard my friend tell his mother to go F herself... The reason I could never imagine ever doing something like that is because my Dad would have knocked me on my butt. Its the same reason I'd never loot or firebomb a store, my parents did not spare the rod and spoil the child.

Let's get something straight right now to start with!

As to your claim that "when all else fails, they generally respond to physical correction," -just means the parent who is older and should be more knowledgeable than the child is the "one that failed" to find a better way of teaching the child.
Being a good role model is by far the best way to teach a child and my husband was a very good role model for our sons.

I was another that got the crap thrashed out of him as a child.
Don't blame me for that, it certainly wasn't my decision to absolutely flay me with a leather belt on occasions, that was the decision of my 2x2 father.
We were also whipped with a cane at High School, (maximum 6 times in one go) enough to leave clear bruises for over a week.
And wether it was right or wrong, it certainly helped to install some hardwiring for life.
I am friends with members of a local 1% biker gang. One of them confided to me recently "biker gangs wouldn't exist if little boys got hugs instead of beatings"
