Regards. GIT, As a fellow "professing person in the F&W fellowship", I am confused as to why you are asking this question?? Especially to someone like Brad who has consistantly demostrated obsessive compulsive behavior on this board. I can only guess at your motives and to be perfectly honest have a hard time seeing any positive reason for doing this. My suggestion to you -like I suggested to Nathan -is to completely stop posting responses to Brad. All they do is create more mud slinging. Peace, HFA

I don't know that Brad or anyone but God can answer this question. Along with perhaps Was Mother Theresa saved? It all depends on if they are counting on the church and good works to save them, or depending solely on the finished work of Christ Jesus. (Sorry...used wrong tense re Mother T.)

Are we 2x2's saved? No. Do we hold to strong hope of salvation, and seek to work out this salvation with fear and trembling? Yes.
Is the Pope saved? Hardly, he largely rejects the teachings of Christ, and hugely rejects the example of the New Testament. But we can pray for him.
Over to you, Brad ;D

Seemingly Nathan has a very different opinion to you Bert. He has stated often that he IS saved now, today.
GiT believes the same, quote:
"Once we are truly saved by Christ we are always saved. Christ has chosen us, and as the Almighty Saviour, we should not presume that the lowly, mortal, weak creature can thwart Christ's decrees or decisions. This is a teaching of scripture."
How is it that your views on something so foundational show such diverse and opposing doctrines, beliefs and faith?

How do we have different views? Everyone has different views! The four authors of the Gospels had different views of Jesus, and they may have been the very ones who were with him! But, it also depends on the subtle definitions of words and interpretations of questions, too.

Over to you, Brad ;D Thank you, bert, for answering this question so honestly! 2x2's are not saved, according to this answer. This is the very ( very issue many of the X's have expressed as a reason to never go back to the thinking expressed by the F & W! The workers and elders are NOT teaching the difference between the finished gift of salvation and the REWARD that we are working toward. I hammer on this frequently, as you know. Is there any hope of getting you to really look at the difference? I ask this question honestly and not with distain! Please may we talk more about it? Thanx! In Him, Edy

Is there any hope of getting you to really look at the difference? I ask this question honestly and not with distain! Please may we talk more about it? Well, as usual, there is no provable "right" and "wrong" answers in religion, it's all a matter of preferred theological interpretation, but here is my vote. I used to believe we spent all our lives working out our own salvation. I would laugh at some catholic friends who had no intentions living a Christian life on a day-to-day basis, but were quick to repent their sins on Sunday so they could start over again. Yes, there are people like that. But I now feel there is more comfort and peace, and actually more incentive to live a good life before God, if we believe we are already saved. Having made this observation from a mental-health standpoint (that's the best I can do...I have long ago given up on REALLY knowing the mind of God), I now prefer to quote the verses in the Bible that support this way of thinking.

I now prefer to quote the verses in the Bible that support this way of thinking. That's pretty much the way I look at this question too. It's all a matter of attitude. If a sense of well being, special blessing, etc, inspire you to want to share good things with your neighbor, be nice, helpful, volunteer your time for the community, etc., well then, let it do its work. But personally I've come to realize that it IS a matter of attitude. The Attitude can be arrived at by a number of ways. What's of interest to me is that putting a religious aura about it makes it more so much more powerful - and motivating. Of interest too, is that you have to truly BELIEVE, or it just won't have the same power as an academic understanding. Unfortunately that motivating power of a liberated attitude, especially when coupled with religious empowerment can lead to people like Edy who see anything else as harmful. Which imo leads to religious zealotry, the likes of which we've seen here, and whose spectrum ranges all the way to "justified" killing and war.

A gift can be received (salvation), and then at some point in the future rejected. THEN, salvation is lost. If once a person has accepted the blood of Christ to cover their sin, they become athetist or in some other way no longer believe in the gift of salvation, THEN, salvation is lost. Best! Edy

And how is it that I see everything else as "harmful"? Are you suggesting that "all religions lead to God", and that I believe anything but Christianity as harmful? A zealot, as leading to such as the "Crusades"? Thanx! Edy

Of course the Pope is saved. After all isn't he supposed to be God's main man? Or maybe it's Billy Graham....no, wait...I think it's the Dalai Lama.

Bert, you wrote:

Matthew, Mark, Luke and John had different perspectives if the SAME story. Their doctrines, their beliefs, their foundational faith was in the SAME person, Jesus the Messiah. The message their Gospel's contained was identical. It was all God's truth which is very clear. They saw Jesus doing different things but that didn't mean they heard Jesus speaking different and opposing doctrines.
I don't see your views, Nathan's views and GiT's views as being subtly different I see them as opposing views. You say you are not saved now, Nathan says he is. How is that subtle? Can you please explain because I truly don't understand.
Your strong belief in meetings only in homes is a point in question. That belief is paramount to you yet if someone has a different view from you like meetings in a building you would hold that they are wrong. Your writings and web site make that very clear.
I really want to understand what is of most importance to you. Is it practice or is it the message?
