I love music, it makes my soul sing, and although I love hymns, some pop songs go right through my heart. This is one, it's not meant to be about God, but its how I think of him in my heart, and I'm always saying how amazing he is! When it says about no sin. I mean in God not me, and at the end I think of he's, and not it's. You'll see what I mean. But anyway it's beautiful, and the instrumental in the middle goes straight to my heart, especially when I listen to it loud whilst cleaning my kitchen. I hope you like it. And what songs/hymns do any of you like? P.s. they've written some of the lyrics wrong on parts in the video I don't look at the video anyway, I just listen youtu.be/g8h2w0VVKzY

Here's one that could be stretched to fit the human experience of moving from the youthful joy of having all the right answers, to the more mature realization that much of life is unexplainable...
Both Sides Now
Bows and flows of angel hair And ice cream castles in the air And feather canyons everywhere I've looked at clouds that way But now they only block the sun They rain and snow on everyone So many things I would have done But clouds got in my way
I've looked at clouds from both sides now From up and down and still somehow It's cloud's illusions I recall I really don't know clouds at all
Moons and Junes and Ferris wheels The dizzy dancing way you feel When every fairy tale comes real I've looked at love that way But now it's just another show You leave 'em laughin' when you go And if you care don't let them know Don't give yourself away
I've looked at love from both sides now From win and lose and still somehow It's love's illusions I recall I really don't know love at all
Tears and fears and feeling proud To say, "I love you" right out loud Dreams and schemes and circus crowds I've looked at life that way But now old friends are acting strange They shake their heads, they say I've changed But something's lost, but something's gained In living every day
I've looked at life from both sides now From win and lose and still somehow It's life's illusions I recall I really don't know life at all.

Bonnie Deuschle – I Bow My Knee Verse 1 I bow my knee before your throne, I know my life is not my own, I offer up a song of praise, To bring You pleasure Lord. Chorus Halellujah, Halellujah, Glory to the King, Halellujah, Halellujah, Glory to the King. Verse 2 I seek the giver not the gift, My heart's desire is to lift you high, Above all earthly kings, To bring you pleasure Lord. www.youtube.com/watch?v=oBnmIWFLaaA

Admin, we learn a new song each month, and that is our new song of the month! Love it. I sang The Holy City for the vocal juries at college this week. That song gives me goose bumps. www.youtube.com/watch?v=28LIXGF2d1o

www.youtube.com/watch?v=3l4nVByCL44"Blowin' In The Wind" How many roads must a man walk down Before you call him a man? How many seas must a white dove sail Before she sleeps in the sand? Yes, and how many times must the cannon balls fly Before they're forever banned? The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind The answer is blowin' in the wind. Yes, and how many years can a mountain exist Before it is washed to the sea? Yes, and how many years can some people exist Before they're allowed to be free? Yes, and how many times can a man turn his head And pretend that he just doesn't see? The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind The answer is blowin' in the wind. Yes, and how many times must a man look up Before he can see the sky? Yes, and how many ears must one man have Before he can hear people cry? Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows That too many people have died? The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind The answer is blowin' in the wind.

Thanks for posting the songs you like they were lovely. Ross the first one brought tears to me eyes, and admin, I've never heard that before, it was lovely. And I haven't heard wildflowers since I was a child! And my one of my uncles in Ireland loved bob Dylan, so blowin in the wind brought back memories too! And snow, what other song would you pick but one imagining that there is no hell? But I'd omit there is no heaven! they were great, thank you! I like this too, it's an instrumental, but it's beautiful, I remember thinking if my heart could sing, it would sound like this! I'm so soppy! It's by Thomas Newman, and it's called "A whisper of a thrill" youtu.be/EZqSBTcr_S4My husband and I are now listening to music we love on you tube!

I've just laughed, when I was young I used to spin round in circles listening to music with my arms out to the side, spinning round and round! I remembered this yesterday when I was cleaning with music on, so I tried to do it again, so off I went arms out, trying to spin, but I went dizzy and had to sit down for five minutes to recover! Getting older isn't great in some ways!

My cuz and I sang it together in one of our family theatre nights. We sang danced and giggled our way through childhood.

I like hymns/songs that use scriptural truths to focus our thoughts on the glory of our Lord Jesus and the Majesty of God. Do you know this one? Across the Lands www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qi0sdO7eTYMI also love this Romans-based song also: Complete in Thee www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bs5i6hh7K9kI had these two sung at Mom's funeral: Face to Face (you'll recognize the tune) www.youtube.com/watch?v=SuLig-W4wSU It is Not Death to Die www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sna3Fp4LZ9gWe sing a lot of the songs from Hymns Modern & Ancient (which was a tip of the hat to Hymns Ancient and Modern published in 1861). Singing these sweet scriptural truths does connect us with our brothers and sisters in Christ, doesn't it?

We often sing How Great is our God at church. Good choice, admin. I like the flowing style of songs of praise. The old style 4 part hymns have their place but the new ones are awesome.

I love some of the old hymns and many songs of praise. Some move me more than others. I cant use youtube @present. Need to save up GB for emergency. Do you guys like Gaither music? Mary do you remember the beautiful music Elim used to produce? I recon a lot of great singers are hidden in churches. Dave and Dave put music to all the Psalms back in the day.

If 'studio quality' sound is important, then you probably won't care for this. It's a bit of a diamond in the rough. I often play it just before shutting down the computer for the night. Send for me a spirit guide Send for me a ghost You became my shadow When I was driving down the coast Lit up the stars in the desert Reveal the bending of the night I held onto your hand and I got pulled into the light And I saw you in flannel, drifting taking off With a pocket full of cedar and your hands so soft And I knew that you were with me 'Cause I hear you turn and say That everybody's going to live forever And no one ever dies anyway Send for me my lanterns Send for me my maps 'Cause I lost all my direction When you got caught in dark, dark traps And now I'm pushing through buildings Out to snowy mountain peaks And I've been carrying your body With me now for weeks And I saw you in flannel, drifting taking off With a pocket full of cedar and your hands so soft And I knew that you were with me 'Cause I heard you turn and say That everybody's going to live forever And no one ever dies anyway You can't turn this boat around Getting older, growing down If you like this sort of melancholy. morose stuff, here is more - www.youtube.com/watch?v=RK0bbAuzr58

Speaking of possibly morose stuff (maryhig's comment), the second line of "Nothing Twice" by Wistawa Szymborska has been rattling around my head for years: "Even if there is no one dumber if you're the planet's biggest dunce, you can't repeat the class in summer: this course is only offered once."

Returning to the o.p. of this thread, a favorite song of mine was written first* in Sweden, by Carl Gustaf Boberg, then translated to Russian, German and English as well as a host of other languages. Possibly because of being made popular by Shae and Graham Ministries and later recorded by Presley, it has largely been ignored by most of those of 2&2 preacher persuasion.
Nonetheless, "How Great Thou Art" is one of my personal favorites, and it's history is well worth researching, in my opinion.
Some verses since added, some deleted, music altered.

I'm not sure why it never had acceptance from the 2x2 community, though the reasons you cite may have had some bearing on that. An anecdote here: Someone once was describing a funeral they had been to, in the hearing of Jack Price. When they mentioned that "How Great Thou Art" was sung at the funeral, Jack said "Oh, so they weren't professing then?" I may not have a funeral, but if I do, I would like "How Great Thou Art" played/sang there. Though not a Christian in any conventional sense, two other non-2x2 hymns I have come to love are "It is Well With my Soul" and "I Surrender All".
