The friends do not talk about the things of God outside of meeting. Even the workers do not do that when they visit. The fellowship meetings are for sharing about what they have been reading in the Bible. Oh that's why people don't say much on here, I was wondering why? Blimey if I hear something from God, I can't wait to share it. And I speak it in the meeting too! I don't say much on here though. Because this forum seems to be more about debating! oh we do by all means share what God has shared with us with those who are truly interested, when we do here we are picked at disbelieved and scoffed at so in a sense we really don't bother because of that, we also bare in mind of sharing perils before...

Quote - "Virgo you agreed with this statement, no one is more important than anyone else, Jesus died for all. It is statements like the above that workers use to try & promote their importance!" Guess that applies to the early preachers like Peter and Paul, too.The workers are not Peter & Paul ! They are not Apostles, Bert ! ok Timothy, Titus and the hundreds more then

"There is no gospel preached, and there is no soul saved, and there is no extension of the Kingdom of God apart from the preacher preaching the Gospel by the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven...The most important people in all the world today to God are His servants" Maryhig, it is meaning the workers ! But no mention of Jesus ! in you mind

But no mention of Jesus ! Yes Jesus is most important, because he is the Christ and the holy spirit is sent through him. And he is the cornerstone of our faith! just because we don't mention Jesus in our every breath or every pen written letter doesn't mean that Christ isn't the most important person/spirit/ in our lives. it is far better to show the life than to crow the life

The workers take those verses "how will they hear without a preacher," to mean them. They are the preachers and another name for a worker is a preacher. Those in meetings have been discouraged from talking about their faith to outsiders being told instead to just ask the person to a Gospel meeting. It is the workers job to preach. Workers are also called servants. The people are called the saints. So workers are called, workers, preachers and/or God's servants. of course they do and would and why wouldn't they? and it is a load of bollocks to say they have been discouraged from talking about their faith to outsiders when we have just been encouraged to do so, we don't have to preach to anyone but we can certainly tell our life's journey with Christ, so i don't know why you tell this untruth

What if they meet someone that really needs help? And bringing God to them could help them? yes we do but don't forget it is God who does the calling and directing

We were told to just ask them to Gospel meetings. Some might be more inclined to talk about their beliefs today but definitely we were told not to talk to people about what we believe but just to ask them to Gospel meetings. We were told not to cast or pearls before swine. The workers were the ones who had given up all to preach the Gospel and were the ones who saved people. Our job was to ask people to meetings to hear the workers. This was a big mistake that the ministry made. If they want converts, shouldn't they encourage the friends to talk to people about their beliefs? Ironically nearly everyone who makes their choice are the children of the friends. And the friends talk to them about their beliefs. don't you converse with those who are not of the fellowship about your belief? i certainly do and i have been encouraged to do so

As I was saying, Roselyn is right! As she was saying, the workers are not the apostles. If you read in Revelations, the apostles have a special place in the new temple. The workers do not. They are equal with us commoners. A worker's life..... seems as if our TMB real life worker is flying over the seven seas and will soon be visiting those folk in the USA. It's a worker's life...... Would friends talk to each other outside of the meeting, about things they've been reading and what they've seen that day in God etc? yes but mostly about what was spoken of in meeting plus also social chat

The fellowship meetings are for sharing about what they have been reading in the Bible. Completely wrong. We frequently spend evenings or parts of evenings talking about spiritual things with our friends. The same applies with the workers. We have spent many enjoyable hours discussing the scriptures and spiritual things with them. Really where do you get some of your ideas from ? gets from her own experience and practices not the experience and practices of others

Pretty much a truth for everyone, don't you think? so how then can one say their experience is the same as others? I don't believe they can. I am quite sure my experience was different from your experience growing up yet we were in the same religion. All we can say is what we experienced and accept that others have experienced something entirely different.

I personally wouldn't want anyone "outside" to be in the meeting with me because I would have to speak that person's language because they certainly wouldn't understand mine.
