I had thought for one moment that there could be a discussion but I can see that you are interested in parroting the likes of Alex Jones. Have fun. See, that's another reason I like you Rational, you're funny.
Yeah... Alex Jones and the Wolf... he's funny too, I picture those two as the 'Energizer rabbits', they keep on going.. and going..
Hey, maybe Netanyahu will invite Alex J. to join his cabinet also, as he did Bill Maher. Now that would be something to see... I'm laughing just thinking about them having a debate.
Here is something that might help you, ...it keeps me going;
2 Cor 4:15-18
Living by Faith 16 For this reason we never become discouraged. Even though our physical being is gradually decaying, yet our spiritual being is renewed day after day. 17 And this small and temporary trouble we suffer will bring us a tremendous and eternal glory, much greater than the trouble. 18 For we fix our attention, not on things that are seen, but on things that are unseen. What can be seen lasts only for a time, but what cannot be seen lasts forever. TEV
May the Lord bless you and move you... He has not given up on you, or you Annan. He keeps looking down that path to see if you have turned yet, but hurry for I don't know how much more that fatted calf can eat before it keels over?

Ari, are you excluding me from the list of people up on which god has not given? Obviously there's no hope for you, Gene. And could you have written a more awkward sentence? I was rather proud of that sentence! Notice the space between 'up' and 'on'. I gave serious thought to that space. Glad you could decipher the meaning. And I'm turning blue with breathlessness awaiting Ari's response.

Well, if Odon takes me up on my offer to come live with me a spell he needs to leave the children at home. I'm allergic to people under the age of 25. I start to twitch.

Gene - Ari, are you excluding me from the list of people up on which god has not given?
No. As long as you have breath in your lungs, we all have a chance and remain in hope. If I have hope, so could you, but you have to work on that faith of yours.
Interpreting the Bible is not your strong point either... Noah took pairs of animals into the Arc, 'male and female..' That's it for today.. next lesson tomorrow.

And there are those that believe we evolved from mixing the feather of an eagle with a little love potion taken from the testicles of a bull, throw in some pepper and salt, stir well and Poof! ... man.

And which of the animals had anthrax? Was one of the humans a leper? So many questions. No answers!

And then there are those who propose any and all unsupported theories because they have learned about things like evolution from fundamentalist christian teaching.

My husband's son was at the house one day when the subject of evolution came up. He got a bit twisted and said that I may have evolved from apes but that he sure didn't. Is this what the church teaches... that the theory of evolution teaches that man evolved from apes? This from a major in the Marine Corp! Someone sure needs to do their homework.

What does the big bang theory have to do with evolution? Ask Ari not me. I thought it was a hoot! I know what you mean Annan, that Big Bang always gets me laughing too. So does when evolutionists quote me on my statement that; "they believe we evolved from an ape..." I mean... like if there would be a difference evolving from an ape, or monkey, gorilla, or a giraffe - who cares? One theory is as good as another on that subject. Remember the missing link-linked to a jawbone of a pig? Want a missing-link? Shave a monkey and post it on you-tube. Would be much better then claiming that the family of cripples crawling on all fours in Afghanistan must be the Missing-link. Man oh man, now that was

I was just thinking of all the lightning in those forty days of torrential rain... but they stayed alive so there wasn't an arc... I guess... It was sin that caused all the problems you mentioned, with sin comes disease. Hate and greed that denies the poor food and better living conditions, denies them care when needed and so on... these caused those problems. It all started with healthy Adam and Eve... and now just look at me.. sick and in pain always.

Yes, we all suffer from the sins of others my friend, and then we all add to it till it all becomes unbearable and we die. This happens whether you believe in God or not.
Look at your world Rational, there is no God in your world and never was, yet is it any different then my world with God?
You are funny, you keep saying there is no God, yet you blame my God for causing all the suffering. This proves you believe in my God, that is your God, only you rebel against Him.
SINNERS, turn, why will ye die? God, your Maker, asks you why? God, who did your being give, Made you with himself to live – He the fatal cause demands, Asks the work of his own hands, Why, ye thankless creatures, why Will ye cross his love, and die?
Dead, already dead within, Spiritually dead in sin, Dead to God while here you breathe, Pant ye after second death? Will you still in sin remain, Greedy of eternal pain? O ye dying sinners, why, Why will you for ever die?
I pray for you in hope my dear friend.

I am trying to get the answer from the theists who keep saying god is love! Look at the direction this world is going... Satan worship in movies, music, colleges, politics.. and yet we all enjoy God maintaining this earth, brings the sun to rise on time, the rain, the snow, yes the snow, just like this last one back east. It is God saying; "Look how easily I could cover half the US in snow, imagine what I will do when I send my Son the second time, .. unless you repent? God IS love... and just to think to live without Him throughout eternity?

Look at the direction this world is going... Satan worship in movies, music, colleges, politics. Can you provide examples of satan worship? You forgot the love manifest in the earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis, etc. that killed and caused suffering for millions. And don't forget the pollution from the volcanoes. Helps to keep the earth toasty!

Helps to keep the earth toasty! good point! like Job said, can we only love life, when 'good' things are always our lot?? consider that whether or not we believe in God, we see that God sends rain on the just and on the unjust. Is rain a symbol of good things (crops), or bad (floods).?? it is a symbol Gods mercy, and the rainbow is a symbol that the ocean level will remain at sea level (no more flooding like Noah saw) .

...and the rainbow is a symbol that the ocean level will remain at sea level (no more flooding like Noah saw) . Or is it a matter of light being refracted through water droplets? One is demonstratable the other is not. The ocean level is at sea level because that is the definition of sea level. Do you think it is god that is preventing the sea from rising or the fact that it is all the water there is?
