It never made sense to me trading one god for another. I don’t like the way you look at me, so I’ll see who can serve me better. I’m talking about Christians turned Wiccan/Pagan or vice versa. Can’t say I’ve ever been a Christian, but I tried. When sitting in a church pew became an effort in not spewing breakfast, it became the proverbial straw.
The hardest thing to do was to not allow myself to grab on to another god or belief system as I tried to shake the Christian influence. Believing in another god or gods didn’t seem as sinful as Atheism. It was the same god with a nicer face.
My attempted transition was a constant ripping out of one brick from the foundation of my belief system and replacing it with another. The flurry of finding an appropriate substitute brick was constant exhaustion.
It took months of forcing myself to stay in a non believing state and to cut the ties of needing something to hold on to. After months of desperation and a stomach clenched in fear, I came to realize that belief was nothing more than a crutch… that fear was the root of need. I no longer fear. Therefore I no longer need.

I'm currently reading The Joy of Science by Jim Al-Khalili. He makes an interesting comment on conspiracy theory believers. He says it makes no sense that millions of people supposedly know the truth of a conspiracy theory and are involved in the coverup, yet the truth has not been revealed or laid bare for all to see. Conspiracy theorists don't want their theories solved or proven. They thrive on thinking they know the truth of a coverup. They are sustained by their passion in this regard. The more facts are laid at their feet, the more they cry coverup. A conspiracy theory is by its own nature irrefutable. Conspiracy theorists aren't interested in separating fact from fiction. To do so would destroy their world. Reminds me of religion and the belief in god(s). The more a theory/god can't be proven, the stronger the belief/delusion.
If you went to a doctor and were told you have cancer and that you need surgery, you might be inclined to seek a second or third opinion. What conspiracy theorist do is disregard the facts and opinions of experts. Ever heard of confirmation bias? If you were told that cities with more churches have more crime, you may want to blame religion for crime, when the truth is that more people create a need for more churches and more people often results in more crime. Conspiracy theorists seem unable to see the whole picture or consider all the facts. Facts mean nothing as belief is all.

What good would it do after all of your questions are answered and be outside the kingdom of God? Paul wrote in Philipians that every knees shall bow and confess Jesus Christ is the LORD God. It's better to confess Jesus Christ is God and Savior now then we recie've eternal life. If we confess Jesus Christ is The Lord God after the judgment day then it will be too late to receive eternal life. Every time you can't live up to the rules of Christianity you blame it on Satan. How is he not the fall guy? *** Satan is NOT a fall guy but a dumb fallen angel to think he can defeat God the Father, Christ, and Holy Spirit with his false religions he created in the world. When Jesus returns he will cast and bound up Satan into bottomless pit for 1000 years, there will peace on earth, no more deceit or counterfeit of God's Truth and Way on earth. I’ve tried some of the best teas thanks to my Japanese brother-in-law. The only tea I cared for was red current. I’m a coffee drinker. I prefer coffee but I do drink tea too. Also I eat a lot of apples and oranges and have berries on my yogurt everyday. So hopefully that's why I don't have high blood pressure or high cholesterol. I'm lucky that way for my age I'm told by my doctor. I have always had good blood pressure. I love veggies but I like to drown them in butter and salt. My cholesterol is a bit high but my doctor says nothing to worry about yet. |

Absolutely Mr W take care of U I received yet another booster . Plus flu shot . My pulmonary doctor is thinking like yours . I can’t afford a variance at all ! We have about 10 test kits and one day positive next negative . However I found myself sleeping by 8 pm . I am exhausted but did nothing ! Stay safe I just found out a good friend of mine has tested positive for covid. She has really bad asthma and last time she got the flu she was in the hospital for 2 weeks, collapsed lung and had to have a stint in to drain for awhile. I am so worried about her. Deeply sorry to hear that, Snow. I had two friends die of covid. Neither were vaccinated. |
