The culture changes you mention such as corporal punishment are not the result of your mythical holy spirit. They are law changes brought about by people concerned about violence towards children in the home and school. It is wishful thinkling that they were led by your mythical holy spirit. For evidence that your mythical holy spirit had no input into those law changes, just have a look at how many religious leaders still advocate beating children. ** God allows and put leaders in the governments to improve the laws to make lives easier for the humans. However, there are dark forces of EVIL want the humans to be slavery and in bondage of Darkness. Listen to the Holy Spirit as your guide and Teacher, He will steer you in the wise and safest path to follow in the generation you live in. How about further down in that same chapter I Cor. 14:33-35
34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.
35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
The women should keep quite and NOT to disturb the gathering with all kinds of questions in the gathering, they should ask their husband when they get homes. The Speakers with different languages, must have translators to translate what he said or keep silence.No where does it say speaking in tongues was causing confusion for some women. Women were to keep silent, period. Tongues were also not forbidden if there was an interpreter. The workers fellowship meetings are nothing like what Paul describes. Your fabrication of the Bible gets worse everyday. Most is not even worth responding to as it's so far off the mark. I Cor 14: 34. Paul had asked EVERY one to pray and to speak in the worship gathering that's including the women. Speaking in languages that many in the meetings do NOT understand caused confusion for some women, because they began asking questions, what is so and so are speaking about? when there was NO interpreters.

Children were not beaten. The rod was the law. Teach your children the law and they will not go astray. If you were able to understand the customs of the times, you would know that. That's always been the way with religion. All religions are quite ancient. Since science started making discoveries that blew many of the claims of religions, out of the water, religion has become increasingly irrelevant except to the gullibles. This subject brings to mind some family history. My grandmother Stone as a young lady worked with a traveling doctor in Indiana. I think her home base was either Logansport or Peru. Somewhere along the travels she made caring for the sick she heard the Gospel preached by sister workers (Marry Spires and Mary Kelly). Sometime later my grandfather Stone was hired by the doctor to drive the car his team traveled in. One thing led to another. My grandmother and grandfather got married. This then caused a problem for the 2x2 church. First they told my grandmother she could no longer take part in the meeting. Next they told her she was not welcome in meetings. A year goes by and the workers tell her they have gone through a learning experience and she is welcome back to meetings with full rights. Apparently the workers in the early 1900s were still working on policy. Soon after my grandmother returned her husband professed.

My mother grew up in Kentucky adjacent to Indiana.
The name Mary Kelly rings a bell!
Her parents professed though Lizy McGregger (spelled wrong? )

Sins of the fathers for multiple generations was not a moral law. One generation is not predestinated to be like the last. Sometimes bad parents can be examples of what not to do. I am reminded of this quote:
