Bible Truths: I don't know where you get your information about the things the Catholic Church threw away - but whoever told you that the Catholic Church chose to throw away the ONLY COPIES of the TRUTH . . . was misinformed. there are copies all over the world. They all say the same thing. I hope you read your Bible more carefully than you read what was written.
It does not say the Catholic Church chose to throw away the only copies of the truth. I said they selected which writings would be in the bible and suppressed the others. In a time when written documents, especially documents regarding the early church, were under of the church, suppressing them meant, in some cases, that they were destroyed.
It was only in the mid 1940s that some of these documents have come to light because of even earlier copies being found.
Think about it. You accept the Gospel of Matthew as absolute truth but not the Gospel of Thomas. Yet the Gospel of Thomas predates all of the other gospels
You read Revelation of John but not The Apocalypse of Peter even though the The Apocalypse of Peter is older. In fact this was in an early New Testament biblical canon. How could it be in the Bible and then not in the Bible if the Bible is without error?
Of course by the middle of the 2nd century there were two groups trying to form the bible to support their views, the time, Jewish Christians and the Pauline Christians.
The Acts of Thomas, The Gospel of Q, The Gospel of Peter. All eliminated from the Bible because a group of men decided they did not belong.
The scriptures are God-breathed.
You are working from a heavily censored list.
As it turns out the Bible is a selection a church made from the documents available. What gave these people the insight?
Even today the Bible is not the same everywhere. The Catholic Bible differs from the Protestant Bible which differs from the Greek Orthodox Bible.
When you speak of an inerrant Bible which one are you speaking of?
