Exodus 21:24 Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for footThe Jewish law of justice is an eye for eye, or a 1:1 ratio for justice. The ratio is now 6:1, and I expect it will increase. Lets use 2 million as the number Palestinians in Gaza. It’s reasonable to expect some Palestinians will be killed in retaliation for the 1,400 Israelis killed. So far about 8,800 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza. How many, is too many Palestinians killed? It seems clear to me that if Israel killed 1 million Palestinians in Gaza, that would be genocide. But what if 500,000 Palestinians are killed, is that genocide? But what if 50,000 Palestinians are killed, is that genocide?
Where does retaliation end, and genocide begins?
In the words of Bibi Netanyahu, "This is not retaliation, its war".. So I doubt the Palestinian headcount is the objective. Its genocide for Hamas, it won't stop until they're all dead.

Netanyahu stirs the pot with his push for more and more settlements. I see war and genocide are not mutually exclusive. I see some genocides have a small head count. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_genocidesLots of global pressures to stop killing civilians. It’s a big mess that will go on and on.

Netanyahu is corrupt as they get. He ignored the threat and now declares war because his negligence killed Israelis. He's been throwing gas on the fire for a long time. They got rid of him a few years ago and then he joined with an extreme group to get back into power. He is not innocent in this anymore than Hamas is. They both view the other as human animals.

I think it will go on for a couple months, or until every Hamas terrorist is dead. The civilians had 2 weeks to leave, I don't pity them because many of them support Hamas. They foolishly attacked a powerful nation that has the ability to wipe them out, stupid is as stupid does. By the time its over, I doubt there will much infrastructure left in Gaza to come back to. Its sad, but they started a fight and had to have known that the repercussions would be overwhelmingly disastrous. Not to mention putting a death knell in the 2 state solution. The biggest threat to Israel is Biden, who threatened to cut off aid today. Biden also asked the Israelis to "pause"! The fool doesn't understand war.

It's useful to know the Palestinian/Israeli Exchange Rate. If it gets past 10:1, I might have to sell a few Ratheon stocks and treat my family to an evening at a nice restaurant.

Don’t forget to make adjustments for the less valuable people in your calculations.. Leviticus 27:3-7 King James Version 3 And thy estimation shall be of the male from twenty years old even unto sixty years old, even thy estimation shall be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary. 4 And if it be a female, then thy estimation shall be thirty shekels. 5 And if it be from five years old even unto twenty years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels. 6 And if it be from a month old even unto five years old, then thy estimation shall be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female thy estimation shall be three shekels of silver. 7 And if it be from sixty years old and above; if it be a male, then thy estimation shall be fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels.

True - that helps my points in my church groups Fantasy Holy War. When it comes to selling weapons though, it's just bodies and rubble that counts.

Netanyhu needs to be ousted. He wants to kill and that's all he cares about. He won't look at ways of getting to Hamas without such a horrible toll on civilians. Surely in this day and age they can intel that can do that instead of just dropping bombs hoping to maybe hit one Hamas. They bombed ambulances lately claiming it was Hamas with weapons. When they were challenged to prove that they still haven't provided any evidence that it was true. Many of the UN aid workers have contradicted what Israel is saying. They are saying it was injured people trying to get to a safe zone. Rules of war are such that you do not bomb ambulances.
And, if they are so sure if was Hamas with weapons in the ambulance that proves they do have the intel to take out Hamas without so much bloodshed of civilians.

Thus assisting Hamas et al in their recruitment efforts. Reports are that Gaza City is now surrounded, with 400,000 people inside. While some in Israel want them all dead, I don't think the Israelis will be allow to kill them all.

He joined with that far right group to get back into power. I imagine that he would have to ban that person that said drop a nuclear bomb on Gaza from the cabinet meetings because it wouldn't be a good look and there would be major push back. Right now 10,000+, 4000 which are children are dead from the all out bombing. I know that it's possible to take out Hamas using a more surgical process like they did with Osama bin Laden. They have top intel and weapons. They have special forces. Use them instead of a wholesale slaughter. But they just don't care and the people that support it saying that the Gaza people supported Hamas is just not true. Most of the population of Gaza is under 18 years of age and never voted them in. Even the amount of people that did vote Hamas in was 27% of the people. So a majority of the Palestinians in Gaza did not vote in Hamas and they did not want them yet they are paying the price. UN Lawyer Craig McIver quit the UN over this stating it's another failure on the part of the UN to keep civilians safe. And, the guy that said drop a nuke is just an absolute imbecile. No way would Israel drop a nuclear bomb on Gaza with it being so close to Israel and it would do almost as much harm to Israelis as it did to Palestinians.

Some historic death count numbers by Israeli military operations into Gaza.
Operation Cast Lead (2008-2009): It was estimated that around 1,400 Palestinians were killed, including both militants and civilians. Thirteen Israelis were also killed.
Operation Protective Edge (2014): The conflict resulted in a significantly higher number of casualties, with estimates of over 2,100 Palestinians killed, including a large number of civilians. On the Israeli side, 66 soldiers and 6 civilians were killed.

But they have to know that any side that deploys deadlier weapons virtually cuts their own throat. Too close a proximity for either nation to survive in WMD warfare.

I'm watching all of this with a kind of fascinated dread - I had/have a pretty well formed (in my mind at least ) opinion about the right steps to take in Ukraine, and what should've been done from the start.
In this case, I really don't know what the best and wisest course of action is. This feels different to me - like watching a slow march toward some sort of catastrophic war that nobody really wants but nobody knows how to avoid. I really hope it doesn't come to that.

I agree that no one knows how to avoid what is happening. Because it's Israel doing it, everyone is scared to do anything about what they are doing. Religion bent wars are impossible to negotiate because it's all about what their particular God wants and if it's at odds with each side what can anyone do? The Western world is predominately Christian in it's leadership and so they are inevitably going to be reluctant to not support Israel because it's actually important for the Jews to stay in power in the region for the second coming to happen. If it was Israel that was in the position where the Palestinians are now and have been for decades, the world would probably be very supportive of any Jewish groups that were trying to get their 'holy land' back. But because they are Muslims trying to get their holy land back, it's no big deal because Christian leaders believe that the Jews have the right to it vs the Muslims. How do you navigate a peace deal under those circumstances? It's such a mess.

I think it's interesting what is happening to students on US Campuses when they protest the deaths of Palestinians. Our college students are known for protesting because they are in the very middle of learning. But these students are now being targeted with even the Biden administration talking about involving the FBI in investigating colleges. The talking point is that they are anti Semite colleges. Since when has it been wrong to say quit killing children? There have been a lot of children that have died since this started and there doesn't seem to be any end in sight. I wonder if these children had been Israelis would the world be protesting the deaths of children finally?

The US & Canada are now mostly alone in their support of Israel vs. the Palestinians, as India for the first time voted to also condemn Israel. (This war is not going to be good for business with India. Israel is a major supplier of defense equipment to India, and the two countries engage in joint military exercises and intelligence sharing.) 2023 UNGA Resolutions on Israel vs. Rest of the World
