Remind me again of why Trump vetoed selling the Ukranians $400 million bucks worth of military gear. Something to do with a democrat computer server? Wrong again. Here is the reason: This is from Business Insider. Former US President Donald Trump, who was impeached for withholding nearly $400 million in military aid from Ukraine, said the country's current crisis "would never have happened" if he were still in office. Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine early Thursday, with Russian troops swarming into the country from its northern, eastern, and southern borders. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a Thursday-evening address that 137 Ukrainians had died and 306 had been wounded as a result of the invasion. Trump released a statement Thursday, saying, "If I were in Office, this deadly Ukraine situation would never have happened!" Trump earlier this week praised Putin's justification for invading Ukraine as "genius" and "savvy." "I went in yesterday, and there was a television screen, and I said, 'This is genius.' Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine — of Ukraine — Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that's wonderful," Trump said when asked about the news. "I said, 'How smart is that?' And he's going to go in and be a peacekeeper." His comments stood in contrast to those of US officials, who warned that Putin's recognition of two Kremlin-backed separatist regions in Ukraine was part of an effort to create a false pretext and invade the country. Trump was impeached in 2019 on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The articles of impeachment were related, in part, to Trump's efforts to strong-arm Zelensky into launching politically motivated investigations against the Bidens ahead of the 2020 election and withholding vital military aid while doing so. The hold on the security assistance was lifted after Politico reported on Trump's actions and House Democrats launched an investigation into the matter. In 2018, Trump again shocked American allies by eschewing years of US foreign policy and telling G7 leaders that the territory of Crimea was part of Russia. His remarks were especially jarring to the leaders of other member states given that it was Russia's decision to annex Crimea in 2014 that led to its expulsion from the G8. But Trump told reporters before that year's G7 summit that he believed Russia should be admitted back into the alliance, and he also reportedly wondered aloud at the summit why world leaders sided with Ukraine over Russia. Before Trump's statement Thursday, he made similar remarks during a Fox News interview. Just as the Russian offensive in Ukraine was beginning to unfold, he blamed the situation on the 2020 US election, which he called "rigged." "Well, what went wrong was a rigged election and what went wrong is a candidate that shouldn't be there and a man that has no concept of what he's doing," Trump said on Fox News, adding that the invasion "never would have happened with us — had I been in office, not even thinkable. This would never have happened."

The son of our (then former vice, now current) president getting kickbacks from a company with which he did almost nothing is a significant issue. I do believe that Joe Biden doesn't remember meeting Hunters associates though. Hunter may have been too preoccupied with coke and hookers to remember either, for that matter. Trump's defense department had been mandated to meet and demonstrate anti-corruption benchmarks. The potential for US aid slated for a new Ukrainian President/Administration to end up in the pocket of Hunter/Joe Biden was a real concern. Burisma had been the center of a 2015 money laundering investigation by the UK government. Trump still violated protocol by not informing congress. Ukraine got all 400 million on Septemver 11th that year, BEFORE the investigation and accusations against Trump were even filed. Trump was acquitted, wasting everyone's time and money.

Russian anger as Senator Lindsey Graham calls for Putin's assassinationA US senator has called on someone in Russian President Vladimir Putin's inner circle to assassinate him.
Lindsey Graham said the only way Russia's invasion of Ukraine ends is "for somebody in Russia to take this guy out".
In a statement on Twitter, the outspoken Republican asks if the Russian president has a "Brutus" who can take out Mr Putin and end the war.
His comments have outraged the Russian ambassador to the US.
Mr Graham, who represents South Carolina, tweeted: "You would be doing your country - and the world - a great service.
"Is there a Brutus in Russia? Is there a more successful Colonel Stauffenberg in the Russian military?"

I don't know if it would solve the current problem but it might be worth a try. And it can't be any worse than Putin sending in people to assassinate Zelensky.

It was said that General Winter was Russia's top man but with the advancement of technology he could very well have been put into early retirement.

Hot off the press ! Celebrated my daughter’s 35th birthday with her & son-in-law & dinner with my fav 2X2’s and their daughter whom is the nurse I speak of . Regarding the worker’s in Ukraine 🇺🇦 . The native worker’s remain close to Ukraine but not anywhere near Kviy . They are just outside of Ukraine 🇺🇦 I can’t remember the name of where they are . The out of country workers have been pulled out and sent back to their countries . No F&W have encountered any problems to this date . Thankfully 😅 I was again invited by them to gospel meetings . A nice gesture , straight from the heart ❤️ . No offense taken . I love being able to interact with some of the friends without fear and consequences . Forever ♾ I will keep those relationship’s regardless , as our father taught us to do so . We truly love them ! It’s a tradition to celebrate my daughter’s birthday with them . Every year without fail . ❤️💕 We are truly blessed ! They babysat my kids for years !

Among Russian Orthodox, glimmers of dissent against the invasion of Ukraine The spiritual dissent exists on a spectrum, ranging from calls for peace to threats of breaking away from the Russian Orthodox Church.
More than 275 Russian Orthodox priests and deacons from around the world have signed an open letter expressing their opposition to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, challenging the Russian government and breaking with the tacit support of the military action by church leadership in Moscow.
The letter called for “the cessation of the fratricidal war” against Ukraine, insisted the “people of Ukraine should make their choice on their own” and lamented the “trial that our brothers and sisters in Ukraine were undeservedly subjected to.”

Wow! I wonder how many "food tasters" Putin has before he eats anything?
How does he communicate with the people that far away from him?

My heart breaks watching the reporting of those poor people in Ukraine . Their homes bombed. Looking at the elderly ...the children. I have to turn TV off at times. I feel so helpless, so sad. When will it end?

When will it end? I find myself doing the same, -just turning it off and not listening. I have been getting more depressed lately and increased my medicine.
The Covid virus was bad enough but at least you knew that "enemy" was a virus and it wasn't intentionally trying to destroy us but this enemy is intentional!

USA is part of/lead of Nato. Nato is by description a DEFENCE pact. Any Nato country would have to act alone or in concert with the whole organisation. If Romania does send troops to Moldova as requested then Romania could well invoke the whole of Nato if its troops are attacked. Alternatively Romania could make it clear to russia that it is acting alone to help its fellow Romanian speakers. It will likely also provide a shot in the arm for the campaigns within both countries to re-unify Romania and Moldova under a Greater Romania.
Leaving aside Nato intervention in the balkans, where Nato intervened in a humanitarian crisis/ethnic cleansing of civilians, Nato is unlikely to intervene militarily until there is a major incident in which either civilian centres are deliberately targeted or the Ukranian nuclear industry is damaged to the extent that there is a nuclear disaster which affects Nato members. Much support is clearly being provided behind the scenes and various EU nations have announced that their citizens are free to travel to Ukraine and take up arms in the defence of Ukraine.
The irony of Putin claiming the Ukrainian government are Nazis is palpable. President Zelensky is Jewish and russia themselves have bombed Babi Yar memorial.......

Russia President Vladimir Putin said Western sanctions were akin to war on Saturday . What a mindset. Along with re-establishing the Ussr, putin also wants to re-establish the cold war between east and west. To a fair extent he already has. I remember before the dissolution of the ussr when they would send Tu95/142 Bear bombers to probe at UK air defences and we'd send up Tornado F3 to intercept them and turn them away. I lived under the flight path into a busy RAF base and I recall seeing in the local paper that local based interceptors had been sent out on occasion. Sometimes the interceptors would be from RAF bases in Scotland, sometimes eastern England depending on where the Soviet planes came from. With the end of the ussr that all stopped. Putin re-started the 'strategic air patrols' in 2007. Still with Tu95/142 but also with the Tu-22M and Tu 160 Blackjack but now they were being intercepted by Typhoon interceptors when they came towards the UK. These flights into and around Nato countries airspace have been continuous ever since. There is no strategic value, no deterrent, no commercial gain. Just aggravation.

We need to remember this ………………………………………… and learn from previous wars
A lesson from wars We can’t repeat how they were treated when they arrived back to their country , if they were one of the lucky/unlucky
The ones that you love To fight for you They volunteered They risk their lives So you don’t have to While you are reading this There are 300,000 homeless veterans sleeping on the street This number is still rising Over 1.4 million veterans at risk of becoming homeless More than 67% of the homeless veteran’s served their country for at least 3 years They gave everything Yet we are failing them While you are reading this They are asking why are they so easily discarded Yet they keep fighting on By the time you read this a veteran is losing his family Divorce rates among the military has increased 42% An estimated 460,000 veterans suffer from post traumatic stress disorder A veteran is roaming the streets helpless Homeless veterans spend a average of 6 years on the streets While you are reading this A veteran doesn’t understand why their sacrifice went unappreciated While you are reading this a veteran somewhere is not getting any help The Veterans administration have resources to serve only a fraction of our veterans Over 5000 die by their own hand every year That’s about a veteran every 2 hours
Are they on the wrong side of heaven ?
Or the right side of hell ?

His word play is transparent IMO. Not in the strictest sense of the word. Occupations generally involve military personnel and equipment that is foreign. He will simply move Russian asset's out and use the Ukrainian people to do the dirty work to avoid the "occupation" accusations. Yes believe it or not some Ukrainians will back a puppet Gov't.
