I'm responsible for my own decisions. Thank you for helping me make the ones I did.  That kind of excuse can't fool God on the judgment day, Bob.It's not really a blame game Nathan. But what people say always have consequences. You have probably contributed to more than a few people on here becoming agnostic or atheist. That's not blaming you, it's merely pointing out that things you say do have repercussions in the big picture. You wouldn't be the only one that made them make a final decision, but you would have contributed. You can't say the things you say, the threats etc. that you justify etc. without accepting that what you say has impact. You are hoping that impact is good so you know you are trying to influence people. But it's also true that you impact in the other direction also. I see you contributing to people becoming atheists and I see that as a good thing. I'm sure it's not the outcome you hoped for when you threaten everyone with hell, but it is an outcome nevertheless. |

Believe it or not some people believe that they will be able to debate with our Lord on judgement day and win. Even some of our TMB'rs will try... If what you say is true and your god actually does exist and judges me, I know that I will have questions about it's morality if allowed. But he's likely just like all bullies, they don't like to allow questions about their faults. I imagine he'll just send me to hell and not allow any questions. If that's my fate, I accept it. I absolutely abhor what the Christian god stands for and all the irreparable damage he has done to people in this world. I would not want to spend eternity anywhere he exists. |

I asked if it was okay to back a monstrous God to avoid punishment. If there is hell and it's all true, I am absolutely sure I will be punished. Just because I will be punished for not backing God is no reason to obey a monstrous God. I will take my punishment if that's what happens. It's not okay to avoid punishment by backing a mob boss/God. |

I know that they are probably already predisposed to being somewhat like that but religions give them the permission to behave that way. In fact, it's built right into the Christian religion that you should tell people all about hell etc. For those who already have a focus on threatening behavior, this just gets amplified and justified. |
