According to Jewish tradition Abraham’s bosum is not Paradise. Abraham’s bosum is a place where the righteous went to be honored. It comes from the Jewish tradition during Jesus’ day when hosts had dinners for people the guest who was closest to the host could lay his head on the hosts breast. The dining no people would lay on their left side braces on their left arm, with their right arm and hand free to eat with. They reclined at a sight angle to where the personvon their right could recline on their breadt and in around the eating table. So Abraham’s bosum is an honor to the righteous deceased. In Jesus’ telling the angels carried Lazarus to lay on Abraham’s bosum. Paradise is a belief that it is a very special place where the redeemed spirits go to await resurrection. Here’s an explanation from Wikipedia. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bosom_of_Abraham

Here’s an explanation from Wikipedia. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bosom_of_Abraham Read Luke 16 Jesus talked about Abraham's bosom/paradise is in Hades, where the Old Testament believers (Adam, Eve, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, the prophets, king David, Solomon, etc.) souls stay until After Jesus had paid the ransom price for them to leave that temporary place, to be taken with him back in heaven to be with God the Father.
The Unbelievers from the Old and New Testament souls continue to stay in Hades/Hell a place of torment, suffering and regrets (the rich man) until the Judgement day standing before God to be cast into the lake of fire for eternity.
Satan holds ALL souls under the inner earth/Paradise the Garden of Eden.... Where Adam and Eve forfeit their souls to Satan when they choose to partake the forbidden fruit/Satan to be with him for eternity. Adam and Eve rejected Christ/the Tree of life= immortality. They realized their biggest mistake and asked God to SAVE their souls but it was too late. They had to pay for their sins and their fallen humans children.
In Genesis 3:15 and through the centuries the Godhead and Christ revealed to Adam and Eve their plan of Redemption for Adam, Eve and the whole human race. Christ will come down from heaven in the person Jesus/Immanuel= God is with us to pay the ransom for our sins on Calvary's Cross 2000 yrs ago.
After Jesus had paid the ransom price after death the New Testament believers don't go to Hades or Abraham's bosom and wait there like the Old Testament believers did for 4000 yrs. The New Testament believers souls go directly to heaven to be with Christ ASAP.... waiting for the days they will receive the resurrection bodies so they can rule and reign with Christ on earth during the 1000 yrs.
God the Father and Christ/God created ALL of the angels, intelligence beings, and us/humans in their image and in their likeness to rule and reign with Christ throughout the Universe in Genesis 1:26 Jesus said "Ye are gods!" but AFTER the fall/sins entered the picture and the humans became immortal beings. Christ came down from heaven in the Person Jesus to restore or gain back our god's status/immortality through His death. Jesus said, "Ye must be BORN AGAIN!" to enter the kingdom of God.

I just gave you what the Jews believed about the “Abraham’s bosum “ for the dead. It is NOT the same as Paradise. You’re going on Christian interpretations not Jewish customs. Jews didn’t believe in a hell as Christians do, they believed that the righteous were separated to a place where the angels of death carried them into Abraham’s bosum. where it was a comforting place, like being the guest of honor at a Jewish feast and the guest of honor lays his head on the host’s breast while they eat. Jesus did not call it Paradise. Paradise is a place couched by Jesus on the cross for redeemed souls to go to to await resurrection.

Jews didn't know or understand about Hades because they believed they were the children of Abraham serving Yahweh God. Therefore, their bodies go to the graves but their souls go to be with God in heaven. Christ/God came down from heaven in the person Jesus to teach and explained to the Jews and His followers in His days, where the unbelievers and believers souls go after death either to Hades/Hell or paradise in heaven to be with Christ. Read Jesus teachings in Luke 16 and the epistles of Paul where they mentioned about these events.

He didn’t change that until on the cross when he told the thief in the cross that he’d be with on in Paradise that day, which Paradise is a special place the dead body’s redeemed spirits go to await resurrection.

But it's not about what the Jews believed is it? Jesus believed something different from the Jews. *** AMEN, snow. Hardly, any Old Testament Jews ever came back from Hades/he'll to tell them about such a horrible place of torment. Jesus/Christ God KNEW about such place so he was able to tell the Jews in his days about it. Jesus revealed Paradise to the redeemed while he chose them and worked within them. He revealed it as the gospel story to those whom the Father had given to him in the earth and he then went down into the depths of hades and preached it to the righteous dead there and released their captive spirits to go behind him into Paradise to await resurrection. Again Jesus dealt with people in the way he knew they thought and believed. Just like he worked with Peter in “Peter, lovest (agape) thou me?” Then Peter answered ,”Lord thous knowest that I love (philio) thee!” Jesus asked Peter the same question 2 more times. The second time he used the word “agape” and the third time he used “philio”. He was seeking to move Peter from what Peter was used to thinking about Jesus as a very dear friend into knowing that Jesus had unconditional love for Peter and Jesus’ lambs and his sheep. I’ve noticed this is the way Jesus dealt with people. He didn’t jump into change their way of thinking because that often defeats one’s Purpose. Because people think you’re saying they’re wrong or stupid but Jesus was just trying to get people to learn to think in a different way to come to better understanding. There was no other place for the righteous dead but what the Jews believed. And that was the comforting place in the bosum of Abraham who is the father of all of faith in God’s promise before Jesus came, was crucified and was resurrected. It was a place where the death angels delivered the righteous dead. There was no delivering by angels for the unrighteousness dead. This is what created the “fixed gulf.” This delivery by the death angels. In Paradise there is no death angel delivery for the redeemed for their spirits are alive in the Spirit and move to Paradise to rest from their labors until resurrection all in their own, led by the Holy Spirit. This comes to the being moved or taken in the spirit by the Spirit as Apostle John spoke of in Revelations.

Nathan, you need to read the whole accounting in Wikipedia about Abraham’s bosum. It became popular use in 550BC amongst the Jews. It was established during the “second temple” period. But it was never correlated to Paradise.
If you continue to read through the whole Wikipedia account you’ll learn abou it all. Christians have bungled the meanings and usages if so many Jewish phrases/terms that new meanings have made the Bible confusing to many readers. When we know what Jewish traditions /words mean and their usage then its easier to understand what Jesus was saying even.

Christians have bungled the meanings and usages if so many Jewish phrases/terms that new meanings have made the Bible confusing to many readers. When we know what Jewish traditions /words mean and their usage then its easier to understand what Jesus was saying even. *** There are TWO paradises: One inside the inner earth/ the Garden of Eden, where God created Adam and Lilth his first wife, both made from the dust of the ground by God the Father and Christ/God Elohim/plural. The Garden of Eden inside the inner earth is a paradise place on earth that God created very beautiful and perfect. It was inside the inner earth paradise where Adam and Eve forfeit their souls and their human children souls to Satan/Serpent as their king and god. After death Satan/Serpent keeps all humans souls in Hades/the unbelievers in the place of sufferings/regrets until they appear the judgment seat of Christ. The Old Test. believers stayed on Abraham's side where there was peace and rest... Waiting for the time Christ to come and rescue/free them from this place and take them to paradise in heaven. The other paradise is in heaven, where God the Father, Christ and all of the good angels, Old and New Test. believers dwell... Waiting for the time when God will grant them the New resurrection bodies so we can rule and reign with Christ on the earth.

In hell or Abraham's bosum? I actually think I'd prefer hell to watching people in torment. That would be absolutely awful for eternity. I can handle my own pain a lot easier than watching someone else in pain so I KNOW it would be just awful for me to watch others suffer.

Unbelievers on one side= The rich man and the believers= Lazarus/Adam, Eve, Noah, Moses, king David, and etc, on the other side= Abraham's bosom/side. Luke 16.

Well if you can see those in hell while on Abraham's Bosum then I don't think I'd ever want to go there. Strangely enough, the dead rich man couldn’t speak to poor Lazarus to go to his family to warn them the rich man could speak to father Abraham. Why? I suppose the rich man considered Abraham his forefathers also but not by faith. And it was and for some, still cry out to ancestors long gone for help. So that appears that those who were righteous and in Abraham’s bosum weren’t aware of who was in hell. 😉

Why hast thou forsaken me.” It said that this is the hell that Jesus suffered for all of mankind’s sins. He had to drink from our cup of God’s wrath. This is the cup he’d asked if it could be removed from him but nevertheless that God’s will be done.” That is an unsaved person’s eternity! It is said to be drinking the cup of God’s Wrath. Is it a real fiery, dehydrating experience as the rich man so seems to say? Only to a thirsty soul for a God he can no longer see.

it changes at verse 12 and starts talking about lucifer.... I know they’re calling the king of Babylon “Lucifer”. There’s no break in the proverb between verse 4-23. This is the prophesied utter desolation of Babylon by prophet Isaiah. Babylon had been such a nation as to outshine all other nations, so the name “Lucifer” or “day star”. Just meaning it shone bright when others didn’t.

No, the sorrows of the world and others will not affect those in heaven. The Bible says all of that shall be wiped away or erased. It’s s time of peace and rest. Paul spoke about it as the redeemed entering into their eternal sabbath as God did on the seventh day. That’s why I believe God had everything planned and figured out before the world ever became.

I'm not talking about those in hell. I'm talking about those in heaven being able to watch others suffer. I wouldn't wish that on anyone that thinks they are going to heaven. Well lets hope so for your sake.

** Under the Old Testament time and covenant the souls of unbelievers and believers live very near to each others in Hades/inner earth, where Satan keeps all of Saved and Unsaved souls, they could see and hear each others. Unbelievers on one side= The rich man and the believers= Lazarus/Adam, Eve, Noah, Moses, king David, and etc, on the other side= Abraham's bosom/side. Luke 16.
Christ came down from heaven and paid the ransom price for the sins of humanity, after death His Spirit went to Hades and rescued/set free the Old Testament believers from Hades/Abraham's bosum. Now, we are under the New Covenant of Christ the believers souls are no longer go to Hades or Abraham's bosom/inner earth/Hades after death but they go directly to be with Christ in heaven.
Therefore, the believers no longer see or hear from their unbelievers families from Hades on earth. That's good because I wouldn't wish that kind of hell on anyone here that's for sure. ** God doesn't want the believers in heaven to know how their families and others suffering in hades. God said he makes all things NEW, no more pains, no more sorrows and regrets. God just wipe out our past memories on earth. Just like old folks loosing their childhood memories.

Most old people remember childhood days better then recent days. Just part of old age. Being in heaven’s better then that. I wouldn’t be surprised all good memories will be kept but those that caused anxiety, tears and troubles won’t. It kind of like now, born-again spirits will feel a quick recognition of Jesus when they see him. Just as Jesus said his sheep know his voice. Our born again spirits were well conditioned to the Master’s every aspect of being so that our responses are always positive and readily given.
