I hesitate to start this topic, because I just don't have much input. I have no clue how life started, how a "replicator" of any sort came into existence, and I can't scientifically grasp the RNA/DNA growth explanations. Spontaneous generation baffles me, no matter how conducive some puddle is. I'm a lousy chemist, too.
Nevertheless, a search for God must include a discussion of how big the mystery of life really is, simply because so many people tend to link God with creation (I'm not sure why). So, have at it if anybody has any thoughts, I hope you do, and I hope I can learn something.

My logical brain does not know where I come from. I do know I come from somewhere.
I was 3yrs old lying on the grass playing alone looking up at the blue sky.
I asked "why am I here?"
A still small voice replied to me.(only way I can describe it) I forgot the encounter for many yrs of my life.
I knew instinctively I had come from some other place.

I'm not sure where we come from in the sense that as many feel, we left something. This is central not just in the JC tradition but I think it is somewhat a universal sense that we left something when we were born, and we wish to return there when we die. But whether this is existence figures on another plane, or whether this longing is a desire to return safely home to heaven and God, much the same way we fall fast asleep assured of a new day .... I do not know. As far as this world goes, and what it might be progressing to, or just how we relate to other possible instances of life in the universe --- familiar or not, I do not know yet!

It seems the we are still living in the 7th day
of creation, and God is resting and yet totally

I have personally witnessed a few situations where true believers have called out to god for help. "Willing to help" does not describe the outcome. In two cases the calling out for god to help was not for the supplicant but for their children. Perhaps at those times god was getting something to drink or making lunch. The cell phone recording of the people in the plane on 9/11 clearly show people calling out to god to help/save them. Don't you think the children of abuse are calling out for help? You have made the claim. Can you offer anything in support of your claim? |

One of the requests that I witnessed was something along the lines of "Oh God, please don't let my baby die." The child died. The others were the many recorded pleas of people who either were trapped in the buildings or on the planes call on god to save them. That did not happen. Of course, you could claim that all of the people were asking god for eternal life. I think at least some of them were simply asking not to die. |

Ah it brings back memories from the last time I was on this board. I had a debate with some atheist on here and at the end neither of us convinced the other otherwise. I and my husband was wondering how does atheist and scientist explain how male and female came to be and yes we read what the scientist had to say thus the same version of many atheist.But once again there explanation did not make sense. They said we were a one in all some time ago and then decided to divide for some unknown reason.And "it" also decide that we need some excitement to reproduce in the future  .To far fetched for me. And saying that I know I am going to get slammed by some atheist ,probably the same ones that slammed me last.So be it.I know that He IS and the proof of HIS existence is all around me every day so that if I did not believe there would be NO EXCUSE as simple as that  . And by He I mean the God of the Bible. |

My understanding was that you meant that when "GOD" started resting on the 7th day, HE had been continuing to rest ever since.
It would seem to me that sometime later he must not have been resting when HE supposedly sent the flood.
He rested . Rain is part of what God had already created. The flood was a heavy heavy rain but GOD Only knows how it happened. |
