Hey Fixit, I'm not sure whether the people from that other planet, woops I mean the USA would get the irony of all this.

Love it Fixit, they can put a man on the moon, a vehicle of some sort on a comet (but in the wrong place) but have not figured out yet that not one of these things will help feed, clothe and shelter the world.

This one's a bit cheeky... Come to think of it, I reckon that might just be the ultimate oxymoron.

Nothing funny about suffering from malnutrition whilst watching satelites go by. But they do provide internet connections so you can voice your complaints worldwide!

Ned Ludd failed to see the benefits of advancements and many people today fall into that same category.

I am not asking for apology from IH's but from overseers who allowed them to remain in the work and told people to not report them. What's the difference between the offender and the enabler? They both carry the same level of guilt. Perhaps the enabler even more so because there was the possibility of stopping the criminal. No one has yet explained how an apology will solve anything. It should be made clear that no one has to seek nor can anyone withhold permission to report a crime to the authorities. The people who can make changes are the members. They do not need permission. They only need to think for themselves.
If people are willing to believe that they can be granted or denied eternal salvation by men who either abuse children or enable those who do then there is little hope they will ever do anything but support and protect those who they have set up as people to be worshiped. There are some who will never be able to think for themselves. Hopefully those who do think for themselves will act to protect the rest. Rational ~ I couldn't agree more with your closing remark above! It will definitely take people willing to think for themselves within the 2x2's to bring about meaningful change within the fellowship in such areas as child sexual abuse. Without the members getting involved and taking action on their own, there's little hope that this problem will disappear anytime soon. JMT

WHY MENTION ROLF HARRIS? THIS IS A QUEENSLAND ALERT INVOLVING FEARS OF A WORKERS DOUBTFUL REPUTATION. THE 2x2s ARE THE GREATEST TWISTERS OF A SUBJECT THAT MAY INVOLVE THEM IN A BAD LIGHT> Rolf Harris was also facing other charges, many much younger than 16. Still others comming out of the woodwork laying complaints. If only 30% are true does that make him lesser than a paedophile?"NO" Magpie ~ I'm just curious, but isn't Rolf Harris the one who wrote that song, "Tie Me Kangaroo Down, Sport" and "Jake the Peg" some years back? He must be in his 80's by now and people are still coming out with allegations against him from the past?
I'm sorry to get off track here. Just wondering if this was the same person that Fixit brought up (Page 7) in response to Rational on this thread, since I'm trying to catch up from the beginning? I was shocked to learn that Rolf Harris was actually labeled a pedophile in this October 2014 article, too.

That's the guy. I saw him when he came to Canada to perform years ago when I was in high school. First time I had ever heard a didgeridoo

Well not exactly, I was born British in a British colony, but the term Limey was applied to British sailors who used limes to combat sea sickness, or so the legend goes; Cor Blimey, I am not a Limey, but I am a bit fond of lemonade.

Yes, my friend that is why everything has gone sour between to pommies and the Limeys ever since then, and Rolf Harris has been singing and doing the kangaroo dance in celebration; so the Limeys are trying to lock him up for a long time, and I bet that the pommies will shout : " sour grapes, sour grapes." Or sour pusses.(Careful with the pronunciation).

Isn't 'pom' slang for an englishman? Yes, I believe it was English sailormen, originally, but we Scots got Jack Tarred with the same brush! Actually the correct spelling is "pome" and pronounced 'pomee, thence shortened to 'pom'. The term originated as an acronym for the first English migrants ( of dubious background aka 'convicts). They were known as 'pomes' because they were Prisoners Of Mother England. And there you have it.
