As much as I wanted to read thirteen pages of another thread ( professing.proboards.com/thread/17079/rationals-hijacking-thread?page=13 ), I didn't. I ran across The Venus Project . . . do I need to tell you how? Okay, you twisted my arm - a person on FB 'liked' a page so I clicked on it and read some of the comments to the original post. The original post had a picture of a little girl holding a cardboard sign that says, "Click like for Jesus" or something to that effect.
There were plenty of humorous comments and a few rational comments. One of the rational posters, doubtfully related to Rational, gave his reason for not pressing like and included 'TVP' at the end of his statement. So I clicked on his name and went to his page. There it was several more times, 'TVP'. Aha! The Venus Project. So I clicked on a link within his page and got to this eventually: www.thevenusproject.com/the-venus-project/faq . (I bet you're thrilled to know all of that - I did it for all those people out there who consistently have to know everything about how anyone got anywhere in life and the decision making to for so whence they wentest with all the proper pronunciation, enunciation, emancipation, declarations, and furtherwhenceations.)
My first thought was communism. Nah, maybe socialism. Nope, it reminds me of some of those somewhat futuristic movies like Judge Dredd or Total Recall where the people walk around in their weird hairdos and never really do anything all day long. They eat once in awhile and never pay for it. They use stuff, never pay for it, and may take it home with them. But they return it at some point. No money necessary.
Oh, yeah, I forgot to finish my thought in the first sentence; I could cut and paste, but what would be the fun in that? I entered "Venus Project", without the quotation marks, in the search box within the Secular page here on TMB (I bet you're getting excited). The only thread that came up was the one in the first sentence of my first paragraph above (unless you're reading this upside down which entirely depends on your definition of 'upside' or 'down' without the quotation marks of course). There was a reference to Zeitgeist but I did not see anything in the last two pages of that thread pertaining to The Venus Project. (I feel like I'm writing entirely for that dimwit from Australia or one of the other annoying ones from a few years ago - prove everything and explain every move. I was going to tell you all about the condition of my desk, what type of computer I'm using, my Internet connection, and all that other stuff, but, nah.)
The Venus Project. The link I gave goes straight to the meat - frequently asked questions. Interesting but definitely not new. Revolutionary, ehhh, yeah, it's different, very different.
