How do you know the Jesus dude was real? All you have for evidence that he was real is the NT bible, which was written several generations after his death, no physical or 1st hand reports, and then there is the internal contradictions within the different gospels. There is no evidence of any of the "miracles", and no other writings about him during his life. Much of the NT was attributed to Paul who doesn't claim to have met Jesus. Extraordinary claims; like raising the dead, flying off into heaven or when zombies roamed the streets of Jerusalem, require extraordinary evidence . If they really happened, they would have been recorded during those days, not generations after. Jerusalem was near the Silk Road route and many people traveled in this area. If even some these bible miracles happened, you would expect the stories to show up in the writing of other cultures of that day, and they do not. Many other miracles have much more evidence than the NT miracles. Are you a believer? How about those Islamic miracles? According to the Quran, Muhammad flew to heaven on a winged horse from the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. It is recorded in the Quran and billions believe this miracle. Or how about when the dude Muhammad split the moon in half. Is this sufficient for you to believe? How about those RCC miracles? Are you a believer? 1600's St. Joseph of Cupertino levitated over crowds, — one time in front of Pope Urban VIII 1917 in Fatima, Portugal, Virgin Mary appeared, sun was blocked, thousands witness the event. 1968, people in Cairo Egypt saw the Virgin Mary walking on the roof of a Coptic church. Do you believe every miracle story you can read? If not, what makes you believe dude Jesus miracles more than dude Muhammad, or chick Mary miracles?
I have found nothing Jesus said to be false, so I believe he was the Truth just as he claimed. I believe all the gospels were written pre 70 AD, no later than 38 years after Jesus was crucified, and probably sooner. That's why none mention the destruction of the Temple, a prophecy of Christ.
I have yet to find any of these elusive contradictions between the gospels. Miracles were witnessed, that's all they had to verify them back then.
No, I don't believe Muhammad was a prophet. There can only be one truth and he taught things that were in contradiction to the bible.
No, miracles had a specific purpose, but the Catholic miracles seemed odd. Mary preformed no miracles, and why in the world would she be walking on the roof of a Coptic church?

One alien says to another, “The dominant life forms on the planet earth appear to have developed satellite-based nuclear weapons.”
The second alien replies, “Are they an emerging intelligence?”
The first alien says, “I don’t think so, they have them aimed at themselves.”

Thanks for sharing WHAT you believe. I'm also in interested WHY you believe what you do. Can you say WHY you believe what you do? Some example people give for their belief in the bible; - Same belief as my parents - The bible is infallible & without contradiction - People around me all have the same beliefs. - Came from a personal revelation - It makes me feel good to believe this way - I don't know why I believe what I do - I have new evidence, not in the bible. - I have never thought about WHY I believe what I do. - _________________________ The coptic church in Jerusalem info

My dog once got into the Scrabble game and ate all of the tiles.
For three days he kept leaving little messages around the house.

I simply read the bible and chose to believed it.. The more I studied, the more I believed it. Belief comes with understanding. I found the bible to be infallible, noncontradictory, and prophetically relevant. That's not to say that I don't have questions or understand God's ways, but just that I'm convinced the bible is inspired. And of course, Jesus was the perfect example that no other religion offers.

I simply read the bible and chose to believed it. ... The more I studied, the more I believed it. Studies show the main reason people believe a certain religion is based on their parents belief and those around them. For example; if your parents were Baptist Christian it’s very likely you will become a Baptist Christian. You can see this same effect in the 2x2. Some have said more than 80% of 2x2 come only from 2x2’s. I don’t find belief comes from a willful choice of what to believe, rather a belief is a conclusion after some consideration. If you find evidence to support the conclusion you then hold to your beliefs, but if you find evidence which don’t match your belief you change your beliefs and follow the evidence to get at the truth. I could for example choose to believe Nathan’s hollow earth belief is true, but try as I may, the facts about the earth don’t support that choice of a belief. So at the end of the day, I cannot believe the earth is hollow even if I choose to do so. I find this believe to not fit the facts, is a self delusion. I could also choose to read the Book of Mormon and choose to believe, but there is much evidence to contradict that belief, so I don’t have a belief the Book of Mormon is true because of the evidence. The most common day to day example of deciding what to believe is the judicial system. This is the reason both the prosecution and defense present evidence to get the jury to believe what they say is true. They don’t persuade by saying I want you all to choose to believe only my side of the story, and the trial will be soon over, rather it’s the one with the best supporting evidence that determines what they will believe.

Of course this is misplaced on a humour thread, but I agree. I listened to the video of the friends and workers singing the hymns and felt homesick. But I don’t believe - and don’t expect I can ever believe. My experience with reality does not support it. So how can I be a “believer”? I could choose it as a lifestyle but would always be a hypocrite. Would likely be kicked out for being a sh!t disturber.

That's true, people are usually influenced to believe what those around them believe.. I just tend to be an independent thinker and am usually not swayed by what others think. I was not born or brought up in the Truth, we were Catholic. I read the Koran, Book of Mormon, Gnostic gospels, etc, and looked into many churches, but none of them rang my bell. So I just stick with the bible and that's enough for me. Jesus was the Truth, and imo, that's all anyone needs to know, everything else is a bunch of fluff.

Good for you, most people don't investigate the religion of their parents. Leaving the religion of your parents is traumatic and makes life more difficult. If you know why you were convinced "Jesus was the Truth" for you vs. all these others religions you investigated, I would be interested in hearing about it.

A woman caught her husband on the bathroom scale sucking in his stomach. “That doesn’t help”, she said.
“Yes it does, it is the only way I can see the numbers”, he replied.

Jesus didn't just appear out of no where, the OT foretold of his coming and he fulfilled prophecy (Isaiah 53, Psalms 22). Only God could remediate sin, only God is sinless, & only God could do what Jesus did.
No other religion proclaimed and demonstrated divine love. The bible comes together like no other collection of books, it could not have been an accident or uninspired. There's a ton of reasons Jesus is separated from all other beliefs, so I'm convinced he was the real deal. No one else revealed God on earth, no one else was so meticulously documented and witnessed, and no one else paid the price for our iniquities, nor could they have.
