JUST SO YOU KNOW MY SISTER AND HER MAN WEAR THE GARMENTS. MY SISTER WHO IS A FORMER TWO BY TWO IS NOW A MORMON. She wears the shorts as underwear, but she does not shower in them, she does not have sex in the underwear and she did not wear them during her C-sections for her three kids. She has the top part of the garments, but she does not wear it under her bra. She washes the garments like she washes her underwear, on a regular basis. She does not always wear the garments but i would say 80% of the time-but she is not a religious freak about it. I dont ask her why she wears them because she gets angry because she thinks I will make fun of her, so we dont ask, but she was not wearing them at her birth and she was not wearing them in the shower, (I know personally of this) My mom attended all her births and helped her bathe after the births and I have seen her naked a lot when I spend the night and she does not bathe in her garments. I have also seen her fold her laundry and the garments are washed. nice try Diet Coke! ;D I just did some reading over on the website Chris mentioned--you are obviously wrong. Why don't you go and read about what mormons believe before you lie and then make up characters to swear to your lies! grow up. As you claim to belong to the Truth, you are embarrassing my religion. Thanks so much. hmmm, what on earth did I say, I wonder, that I could be wrong about? You mean that they wear special underwear because it's church teachings? I am knowledgeable already, thank you, about Mormon underwear, half my relatives are Mormon, and I've read several books about the Mormon beliefs. I certainly hope I didn't say something that offends any of them! I think somebody got me mixed up with some other poster.

Diet Coke--it is not I who is mistaken about the Mormons and their underwear. Indeed Mormons wear these garments (top and bottom) to this very day--the garments are supposed to have protective powers and sadly they are rarely clean--the garments must be worn next to the skin 24-7. For devout ladies this is exceptionally uncomfortable, because the most devout wear their bras etc OVER the garment--making the whole ensemble fit quite poorly! True--many will remove the garment to wash it on a very occasional basis, but the most devout never remove their garments until they are literally falling off! Yes--the devout will even shower in them, have marital sex in them, have babies while wearing them---etc etc! When the garments are so old and HOLY that they are literally falling off--then they can be replaced with new garments. You may want to familiarize yourself with a subject before presenting yourself as an expert in it. If you are interested in Mormons, this board is their equivalent of TMB: www.exmormon.org/And thanks to A Mormon for helping me to set the record straight. As far as the C word--I still consider if highly appropriate for this group. But as it is offensive I will refrain from using it here. This does not mean that I agree with you. I do not consider it as a particularly perjorative term, I consider it highly descriptive of certain groups. I will leave it at that and do my best to avoid this term. Based on the behavior of some people here, it seems I am more respectful of your feelings than you are of mine. Doesn't bother me--but it is good to know. JUST SO YOU KNOW MY SISTER AND HER MAN WEAR THE GARMENTS. MY SISTER WHO IS A FORMER TWO BY TWO IS NOW A MORMON. If she is nt married, she to the man she is living with she can hardly be considered a good Mormon. You say that you don't talk about the garments--it makes her uncomfortable. Yet you know that she does not wear the garments during sex. Do you watch her have sex with her partner? So much of this is improbable. Congrats on having such a close relationship with Sis. She is surprisingly uninhibited for someone who has been both a 2x2 and a Mormon.

I come from Mormon background. What the BYU survivor says can be true for some families. BUT the dirty garments have never been part of the devote Mormon's I know. (and I know a lot of them).
My grandma was meticious about cleanliness so she would launder hers just like she would launder underwear. You can always keep touching one while you are taking it off and putting on a clean one you know...
She also wore it on top of her bra---oh, come to think of it.....I saw her wear it both ways. She told me that in the olden days people would indeed stick one foot out of the bathtub with the garment draped over it.....so that they would never be without it. It was supposed to protect them.
But like all traditions, I do not think most of the Mormons today go this far.... Sort of like how the younger professing women have bangs or twinges of hair. Well the younger Mormons aren't as traditional about their garments like the older ones were. Remember it's only the Mormons who qualify to marry in the temple or have their temple endowments done who wear the garment. Other Mormons are still Mormon, they just don't qualify for all the "rites".
I think the cleanliness would depend on the people, not the religion.

May I ask a question - why in the year 2007 would anyone handicap themselves with a condition that is so simple to fix.
It is a 10 minute outpatient procedure and let me tell you - the next morning when you wake up you will wonder where your head was all these yrs - that is unless you have left it way to long, and all the muscles and nerves in your hands are shot and then there is no fix.
I maybe understand from your bio tho, something about being a hypocondriac and there is so much false info out there from holistic medicine sorts and anything medical or surgical is taboo.
Sorry if this is off topic, but couldn't let that one pass - this is from one happy camper who has had both hands done...........but then I'm a surgical nurse too!

Hello to all
Chris I can see how you would find the ex/current 2x2s interesting.... I like you have studied many different religions. Have you ever studied “Voodoo”.... very interesting I must say.
With the destruction wrought on New Orleans and other parts of the Gulf Coast, hundreds of thousands of individuals, including many Louisiana Voodoo practitioners, were driven into Texas. I had the privilege of teaching several of those children.
There are a number of points of similarity between Roman Catholicism and Voodoo:
Both believe in a supreme being.
The Loa resemble Catholic saints, in that they were once people who led exceptional lives, and are usually given a single responsibility or special attribute.
Both believe in an afterlife.
Both have, as the centerpiece of some of their ceremonies, a ritual sacrifice and consumption of flesh and blood.
Both believe in the existence of invisible evil spirits or demons.
Followers of Vodun believe that each person has a met tet (master of the head) which corresponds to a Christian's patron saint.

Hello to all I guess that you are thinking to yourself. 'what a friendly lot, where is the Spirit of Christ within them?' Let me apologise for the reception you got, in my opinion it was not justified. There is very little evidence of 'soft answers' on here; I'll tell you something, Daniel fared much better in the lion's den, and God was with him; perhaps if God was with you also you would have fared better, just a thought. Here is a warning advice to all who contemplate posting on here, before you do so, throw your hat in first and see what jumps on it. Sometimes it really saddens me :(how some of those that are 'in' and some of those that are 'out' behave on this Board. I wonder what God thinks about all this, it must surely grieve His Spirit. I am no angel myself but, for goodness sake, be more polite and civil to each other. Please contol your hurt, your anger, your distrust or whatever bothers you. LOVE is the Kingdom's banner, is it not? How can you compare people talking to lions tearing your flesh to shreds? What kind of sad wimp are you? meow meow does that scare you too?

I would like to know more--can you direct me to some places where I can learn about this? I have never had any surgery at all--and am leery about going under. So whenever the subject comes up--I shut the subject down. I have not visited a doctor in about a dozen years so it is mostly well intentioned friends who give me advice. But I had no idea the success rate was so good and all that. So I need to put my fear aside and look into it more.

Update: I have been extremely busy the past few days. My friend (associated with this group) contacted me! Someone thought it might be her and referred her to this page and she recognized me. OK to be honest I was hoping to find her. Why do you think I have gone over profiles etc obsessively? It was with the hope I would make contact and now I have.
The question is what now? I know that I want this girl. I want to get married, live in the mountains with her and have lots of children especially girls who are just like her.
She is still single---but has a boyfriend. However--he has just moved out of state (God is on my side) and they do not know what will happen.....
I am plotting how I should proceed...so that is keeping me busy.
I enjoyed reading over the Mormon discussion though! These things are interesting! In that vein--I was looking for the views of your group on dancing--I read a good thread a while back but I can't find it now? Can someone help?

Oh--and there is something else I have always wondered--most religious groups tend to have dietary restrictions or traditions, but I have never heard this discussed? What are the views of this group in the area of diet?

Hello to all: I had my right hand done about 3 years ago *re:carpal tunnel* They didn't even put me under, under...if that makes sense (kind of like when you liked a boy in school, but you didn't LIKE him like him... lol) if you know what I mean! They made me very woozy in surgery so I hardly knew what was happening, but I remember the doc talking to me here and there and mumbling back and forth to them..they prolly get quite a kick out of it! hehe. At any rate, it took about 15 minutes and was nothing. Can barely see the scar and it made SUCH a difference. Don't be afraid to do it if you need it done.....you will feel SO much better afterward. Also, they will do some sort of test first (what was it called....electr...blah blah??) to make sure you really do need it.When I had mine done, my right hand was much more severe than my left, so that's the only one I had done..my left is still ok.Check it out..google it. You may be glad you did! Good luck...Mich
