Let's look at your logic and conclusion. It has been 17 years since 9/11. According to you since all of the holes are not plugged they are all considered open. Illegal border crossings have been going down but let's go with your numbers and say that 365 terrorists each year have entered the country. That is a total of 6,000+ terrorists roaming the country. That is the equivalent of about 326 9/11s or 970,000 dead. Here is the list of terrorist attacks since 9/11: April 15, 2013 - Twin bomb blasts explode near the finish line of the Boston Marathon, Both were legal immigrates, in the US legally. July 16, 2015 - Mohammad Abdulazeez killing four US Marines and a Navy sailor on a military recruiting center in Chattanooga, Tennessee Mohammad Abdulazeez was an American citizen in the country legally. December 2, 2015 - Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik killed 14 people at Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, California. One was an American citizen and the other was legally in the US on a K-1 visa and a conditional green card. June 12, 2016 - Omar Mateen killed 49 people and wounded others in a nightclub in Orlando. He was an American citizen. May 26, 2017 - Jeremy Joseph Christian pleaded guilty to killing 2 people and injuring a third during a Portland, OR, train attack. Jeremy Joseph Christian is an American citizen. August 12, 2017 - James Alex Fields Jr. killed one person is killed and injured 19 in Charlottesville, Virginia. James Alex Fields Jr. is an American Citizen. October 31, 2017 - Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov killed eight people are killed and injured 10 more on a busy bicycle path near the World Trade Center in New York. Sayfullo Habibullaevic Saipov was in the US legally on a United States Permanent Resident Card. December 11, 2017 - Akayed Ullah set a failed bombing in a NYC subway station injured four people. Akayed Ullah is a Bangladeshi immigrant legally in the US. October 23-27, 2018 - Cesar Altieri Sayoc Jr was accused of mailing deadly devices to a number of US citizens. Cesar Altieri Sayoc Jr is an American citizen. None of the above terrorists (or accused terrorists) would have been stopped by a wall. It seems doubtful that any of them would have ever seen such a wall. And the 9/11 terrorists that you bring up as examples - even an 100% effective wall would not have stopped a single one of them. regardless no one saw those terrorists coming and 2800 died and they planned it for years before they did it, who knows what they are planning now with the border so unprotected... in fact i remember joe biden on cspan a day or two before 9/11 come out saying terrorists would never attack us with WMD's and look what they did anyways....you keep sticking your head in the sand and your butt will be toast... Rational, do you sometimes feel that you are banging your head against a rather solid wall?

Your forgetting one important point Rational. A wall would make Wally feel better and maybe even happy. A bit like when a placebo is administered. Sounds like there is a market for a portable personal wall. I believe they are sold under the name playpen.

What if, Russia or China sent an armada to Venezuela? Mad Duro then could say to Captain Fanta "Come on you old wind bag, send your troops"

The wall was lost in the first 2 years of the administration. A president has 2 years to get anything done and then the midterms stop anything from happening.

The wall was lost in the first 2 years of the administration. A president has 2 years to get anything done and then the midterms stop anything from happening. And on top of the WHs inability to get anything done except signing executive orders there is the overriding fact that the Mexicans seem reluctant to pay for the wall. I guess the lesson is that when running for president promises should be avoided just because it get a few people on their feet and chanting.

In the time leading up to 9/11 the border was even less well protected yet it was not the method used by a single one of the 19 terrorists. And in the list above none of the terrorists entered illegally through the southern border. And there was no use of WMDs. You seem happy to be chasing phantom terrorists and building walls to keep them out. Maybe a phantom wall would be the solution to stop phantom terrorists...

A better movie to watch is Sicario: Day of the Soldado. It's Trump's most important advisor on foreign policy. www.yahoo.com/entertainment/stephen-colbert-shows-sicario-sequel-171523133.html

No, we need to assess the various levels of threats and use resources to to address the areas where they will have the greatest positive impact. Building a wall may help the ego of one person but will but accomplish anything else? 250+ pounds of fentanyl were seized by U.S. Customs and Border Protection from a tractor-trailer carrying produce from Mexico. The seizure was made at the Nogales border crossing. I don't think the truck was sneaking around/over/under a wall.

It seems doubtful that people running hundreds of pounds of drugs in cars, trucks, and freight on trains will be repackaging them into smaller packages for human transportation. But I am sure you have some research that supports your point of view. Can you share it?

actually you would be wrong although the bulk of stuff goes through ports some does come across on other parts of the border it was something like 15,000 lbs of drugs at ports and 500 lbs elsewhere along the border....that trickle will become a flood once the ports get squeezed....

Yes, it was my laugh of the day. Trump announces that the wall is already under construction and they have miles of new, beautiful wall -- beautiful, nothing ugly like the old parts of the fence, quite attractive. Also, he wants to meet in a beautiful room to come up with a new nuclear treaty with Russia.

Since the confiscation of drugs has increased without pushing up the drug traffic across the unmanned border what data do you have that leads you to believe there will be a sudden change? A discussion would be informative but you have yet to support your claim.

Maybe Americans should look at the reason why there are so many drugs coming across the border. You know, supply and demand! If there was no demand, the problem would be solved without a wall. Maybe a documentary on how cocaine is actually made would help some people quit using it. It's pretty gross. Sulpheric acid, gasoline and other yummy things like that...
