We'll shortly see how many Republicans have a backbone. If today's news doesn't do it for them, we might as well forget it.

Smile! Have already done so, both of us Trump should match the same amount as he may have to pay in restitution $2.8 million (NZ$4m) Trump Foundation to shut down amid lawsuit 06:49, Dec 19 2018 US President Donald Trump's charitable foundation reached a deal Tuesday (Wednesday NZ time) to dissolve while Trump fights allegations he misused assets for business and political purposes. New York's attorney general and Trump Foundation lawyers filed a joint stipulation in a court laying out a process for shutting down the charity and distributing its remaining assets to other not-for-profit groups. Attorney General Barbara Underwood alleged in a lawsuit last spring that Trump had illegally operated the foundation as an extension of his businesses and his White House campaign.
That lawsuit will continue, with Underwood seeking US $2.8 million (NZ$4m) in restitution and a 10-year ban on Trump and his three eldest children running any charities. US President Donald Trump's charitable foundation has reached a deal to dissolve while Trump fights allegations he misused its funds. "This is an important victory for the rule of law, making clear that there is one set of rules for everyone," Underwood said in a statement. "We'll continue to move our suit forward to ensure that the Trump Foundation and its directors are held to account for their clear and repeated violations of state and federal law."

When did that happen?
Trump had to give OUT 4 billion to farmers for his messing up tariffs.
"A billion here, a billion there, and pretty soon you're talking about real money," - to quote former US Sen. Dirksen.
That was a long time ago, -wonder what he would think of Trump?

Smile! Have already done so, both of us. Scams that bilk the elderly out of their funds should be a crime that is enforced. Wasn't the promise that Mexico would pay for the wall? And now it has moved past the government to gullible citizens. But they are almost up to 2% of the first billion. And what will that buy? MAGA hats all around?

"We will work with the organizer to transfer funds to an appropriate recipient or refund all donors, as stated in the campaign story," Whithorne said.

I feel sorry for the government employees that won't be paid until Trump's tantrum ends. The guy that said that they don't live paycheck to paycheck is living in a bubble. At Christmas time it couldn't be timed worse for these people. And, all over a stupid idea of a wall that won't make a bit of difference.

Seems like a lot of cash to support the ego of someone who made a promise he could not keep. He even resorted begging Peña Nieto to help him: "But the fact is we are both in a little bit of a political bind because I have to have Mexico pay for the wall — I have to." And complaining he was not getting his way: "If you are going to say that Mexico is not going to pay for the wall, then I do not want to meet with you guys anymore because I can't live with that." The great deal maker. Have there been any deals?

The Mexicans haven't made their down payment yet. i don't think thats the route hes gonna take do you? Since it was the route he promised and given his proclivity for prevarication I would have to say the odds are slim that he will accomplish much of what he has promised.

One of the claimed "promises kept" was to help the rural farmers. They are in such bad shape that they have needed two bailouts just to survive. Read through the Infrastructure plan. Note that nothing has been done. It is all supposed to be happening in the future. This is not a promise kept. It is yet another promise made and broken. The infrastructure plan is dead in the water. Promises made to keep manufacturing in the US do not look so good when Harley Davidson moves out of the country and units of United Technologies Corporation are drifting off to foreign shores. And the tariffs - you are paying more for goods and calling it a win for the government. Check with the farmers and the manufactures who use the steel and aluminum. The list of promises kept are for the most part promises made. Do you see a wall? Do you see Mexico with a checkbook?

Two years Trump has had a majority in the senate and house and was unable to do most of what he tried. What is holding these projects back? Or do you mean Trump's shameful capitulation to Putin in Helsinki? Or his capitulation to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan? Or maybe you are thinking of his negotiations with Kim Jong-un. I am feeling so much safer.
