There are many intelligent 'good' Americans. Their problem is that they let the dumbest among them get on TV!

Maybe it is more of a case they have better things to do with their lives and time and so television is left to the great unwashed.

Perhaps a match made in Heaven.
Matthew 19:6 New International Version (NIV)
6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

Nothing wrong with them getting married.
Sandy Scott married a sister worker in Italy and they both continued in the work together.
They both were the kind of workers that would give the 2x2's a good name.

Married clergy would be a far better situation. The strange thing is that there is a history of married Workers in the past, the one I most remember being Bill Carroll. Why have they got away from it???. Two Victorian Workers that I fondly remember got married and had a very happy life together. They have both passed on, but they were indeed a wonderful couple. So lets hope that in the future they will come to there senses and see the advantage of having married Clergy. If the information is true, we wish them a wonderful future, and a very happy Valentines Day tomorrow.

They could be also followers of Aphrodite, especially at their age.

If the information is true, we wish them a wonderful future, and a very happy Valentines Day tomorrow. I think that maybe the reason the unmarried idea developed because to get people to go into the work meant that young people were recruited when they were naive & full of fervor.
But the snag was that young people also would have children. Being constantly on the move living out of a suitcase as workers do, would NOT be a very good life for a child.
But if they really wanted to work that problem through, they could make some changes. Keep them in one spot for at least a year (for an intact school year) and live by themselves in one place, an apartment.
In other countries workers often lived in one spot in what they would call a "batch." It was necessary because there wasn't already any professing people to live with.
This could be done but it would take a lot of giving up "cherished " ideas. (as well as motives to go into the work) I truthfully don't foreseeing that happening.

Not a problem getting married. I don't understand why there can't be married couples in the work.... time for a change I think 😉😉

Jesus, John, Paul, Barnabas, Timothy, Silas and MANY other apostles were Unmarried as preachers. Peter and a few apostles were married. The 2x2 unmarried workers, the early pilgrim/Faith Mission preachers, the Vaudois preachers were unmarried. They have chosen to follow Jesus, John, Paul and so on example as unmarried preachers.
Peter and others were married preachers, and Martin Luther chosen to follow their example as married preachers. There has been some married 2x2 preachers for years.

Name these workers being accepted into the work who are married Nathan. There has not been anyone who is married accepted into the work for years (as TTT said not since 1962). Married people are not accepted into the work and if anyone wants to get married they can no longer be a worker. I can't think off hand, of another group who has not allowed those in ministry to be married apart from the Catholics. Also tell me where it says in the Bible where a pastor cannot get married or own a house. The workers were meant to be wandering evangelists not pastors. The Waldensian preachers were wandering preachers. The workers role and ministry today is nothing like the apostles, the waldensians, the Faith Mission or the early workers. Cooney was right to resist these changes if he was to keep the vision of the early workers. A pastor is stationary not a wandering evangelist so being married or owning a house is not an issue. No where does it say pastors couldn't marry or own a house. The difficulty was that they were travelling around and unlike snails we cannot take our house with us except if we stay on land and live in a trailer home. Note that they didn't have aeroplanes those days so why are the workers flying to places? I'm sure Jesus wouldn't have used other people's money to fly around the world but moved around preaching on the way.

In the book of Acts we read of Paul and his co-workers travelled 3 missions to many places and countries on ships, where do you think they get the money from?
We read in the gospels that Jesus and the apostles receive money from the kindness of strangers and their followers.
Do you think Paul and his companions should swim across the ocean instead using/travelling on ships on missions to SAVE money. Are you nuts?
With your thinking it will take millions of years to reach/preach the gospel to all nations.

They could be also followers of Aphrodite, especially at their age. Perhaps they ought to start calling on Asclepius? I've heard that's the general progression of life. I'm beginning to believe it.

Some of the apostles were fishermen and wasn't one a tax collector? No one says they gave these jobs up completely. In fact, when Jesus was crucified it does state that they went back to Galilee and fished. It wasn't until Mary Magdalene got on their case that they even resumed their traveling and preaching. If you have read the Gospel of Mary Magdalene you would know that she got them motivated again

Jesus was a carpenter by trade, did he work as a carpenter during his 31/2 yrs ministry, to support himself and his apostles?
Why did the apostles went home and back to fishing? And did they continue in their fishing business? and WHY didn't they continue as fisher men instead became preachers of the gospel full time, in the book of Acts.

I presume they had jobs when they weren't out preaching because they needed the money to go out preaching? You tell me why Paul was a tent maker. I just thought it was because he knew how and needed the money.
