Leslie White -.pdf (142.37 KB) There have been some folks looking for this on the TMB, so I thought I would post it to a new thread so it will be easy to find. Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact the Elbert County Sheriff's office. Attachments:

I see no date on the letter from either party or am I not looking hard enough?

I don't see any date either. Excuse me but the whole thing just comes across as strange. What do you find strange? LW sending out a letter saying the investigation has been dropped or the official sending out a letter stating the investigation has not been dropped? That's sad. The people that have any information that would be meaningful for the case are the very people LW contacted. They need to be told that his letter was inaccurate. What details? Looks like dates were a problem for all concerned. I believe you could know how it works. matisse posted the laws of CO. What part of them didn't you understand? You should be happy.

take the fifth
Refuse to answer on the grounds that one may incriminate oneself, as in He took the Fifth on so many of the prosecutor's questions that we're sure he's guilty. This idiom refers to the Fifth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which states that no person shall be compelled to be a witness against himself or herself..
Good for Leslie. True American knows his constitution. Here say will not hold up in court. Only way they get a conviction is if Leslie confesses... that isn't happening

If you do something wrong and it's a case of he said, she said, if you keep your mouth shut (whether you did it or not) you can't be found guilty? That's not really just or honest is it?

It is hoped that more people will come forward with any information they may have. As Joel mentioned, he received several calls after the email was sent out by Leslie.

In Leslie's email, he is claiming that there is proof of his innocence. It would certainly make sense for those people who can prove his innocence to contact Joel with their facts. I would think that the senior workers who have been involved, and the friends who can prove his innocence would WANT to come forward with this proof.
Unfortunately for Leslie, it doesn't appear that is going to happen.

Thanks Scott! Did he disclose to you the information he has that enabled him to write that criminal acts had been committed/that rape had occurred? I have most of the information concerning this. Copies of the sister workers statement concerning what happened, dates and all that. I had it before he did I think. I helped put the sister worker in contact with some senior workers. It was after that meeting that the senior workers involved encouraged her to report to the authorities. I have also been in contact with other workers and friends who knew of other issues in his past. This wasn't the first time allegations against Leslie have come up. Another professing woman contacted me quite some time prior to being in contact with the sister worker and shared how Leslie coerced her into sex with her and then wouldn't leave her alone. Another incident of sexual harassment in Colorado directed against a young professing woman, a sister worker who (according to other sister workers...and years prior to this alleged incident) allegedly was sexually assaulted by Leslie, the much publicized issue with the woman that resulted in mediation...... there is quite a list of past issues.

What basis does this law officer have for saying a criminal act (rape) has been committed? Is that what he wrote?

Read the letter to get your answer. Yes he wrote of the 'criminal acts committed'. I wonder how carefully he thought before producing the letter? I read the letter. I wonder how carefully you thought before asking about it. As you wrote . . . pay attention now . . . written by review005 "Yes he wrote of the 'criminal acts committed'." Previously written by review005 "What basis does this law officer have for saying a criminal act (rape) has been committed?"

Hmmmmmmmmm, I wonder how carefully L.W thought before he wrote his letter. He has already established the fact to the investigator that he cannot be trusted to tell the truth. Not a great start, and a little more self discipline will be required by investigator to remain objective and professional, as his "case" can so easily become "personal " and that is not good. L.W. Would be wise to communicate with investigator directly, not behind the scenes like the letter he wrote. Alvin

No problem Mr Review. Glad to be of help. You are right about one thing in your last comment on this post and that is various people have workers in there sights. And the reason for this is quite simple really. We are now able to shine a light on the dark side of the 2x2s. We are able to make others aware of some of the unsavoury acts practiced by workers such as Leslie White. You carry on hiding them, that's what your flock donate money to you for.

Previously written by review005 "What basis does this law officer have for saying a criminal act (rape) has been committed?" You are correct." Committed criminal acts" is the quote. I should have also stated rape in the plural.. rapes. Quite a thing for the law officer to take it upon him self to make this statement. It is highly unlikely that he has any basis for making the statement. If he had worded it with 'alleged' before 'criminal acts' I would have no question. The implications of the change this one word makes are huge. How do you know the crimes are rapes?

Read the letter to get your answer. Yes he wrote of the 'criminal acts committed'. I wonder how carefully he thought before producing the letter? I do not think you are reading his letter correctly: I, Sgt. Joel Heap of the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office along with the Investigations Unit, located in Kiowa, State of Colorado have been investigating the allegations of a criminal act committed by Leslie White. I, (Sgt. J. Heap) would like to make it very clear that this case is still under investigation with Mr. White as the suspect of the criminal acts committed. (You do not have a dog in this fight. I do not think you want to get involved in defending this individual in any shape or form. Let law enforcement do its work.)

In what way am I reading the letter incorrectly? I understand a law officer is accountable for his words and actions in the USA. Read the bolded parts of my previous response.

It's called Office Word, Make a document in Word, save, open a new email and transfer document to Word at some future date. Easy really.

You are quite right Mr Review, however sometimes our expectations are not met by reality. I can think of one well known police investigation in NZ where the police let themselves and the public down. That was the Crewe murders were evidence was planted. Your expectations in that case would not have been met. Police officers are like any other segment of society, they are human, they make mistakes. I think that any mistakes made in this letter are of no import to the case. The cop is putting it out there that he is still open to receiving info. No different to going on tele or radio or the internet to say the same thing. I'm not sure why you would be picking holes in the letter unless it is somehow your misguided attempt to take the heat off LW

in our effort to understand what is going on lets not forget LW is INNOCENT until proven guilty in a court of law or a complete confession of guilt.

In what way am I reading the letter incorrectly? I understand a law officer is accountable for his words and actions in the USA. His email obviously is dated. Every email is but why is his document released for public distribution not dated. What is going on? A police officer is expected to be accountable, yes. It is odd to hear someone called out for not being accountable because he left the date off of a letter on a message board that discusses the need for accountability in much bigger issues. How does it matter when the letter was written? Not sure if this is a case of straining at a gnat and swallowing a fly or just the common deflection of attention away from bad PR.

in our effort to understand what is going on lets not forget LW is INNOCENT until proven guilty in a court of law or a complete confession of guilt. He is innocent in the eyes of the law. So is Bill Cosby. Do you presume the sister worker is a LIAR? LW has essentially branded her as such in the email in which he also makes false claims (it seems HE is...) about the status of the investigation. In a court of law, the burden of proof is on her. Lack of proof will NOT prove that SW was never the victim of a heinous crime at the hands of LW.

Scott, the mistake you are making and countless others have done so as well is that you should have referred this matter to Review005 first. Thank you Now let's see how many of the sarcasm auditors post their squeals of disgust. I've observed they exempt all ex members of the church from the purview of their audit. It is workers they mostly have in their sights. You won't hear anything from them, rather several may give you 'like it'. This is part of the inherent hypocrisy of TMB. If you have a problem with TMB you can leave...

I asked: "How do you know the crimes are rapes? Okay. They might not be. Do you know how many people have gone to that sheriff department with allegations? If just SW, then the crimes would not be rapes. Even if just SW has made allegations, the crimes committed (as indicated) might not include rape, but some other crimes.
