We have just had the second anniversary of Graham Thompson’s resignation from the ministry.
The situation has not changed. The cause of his leaving still remains unaddressed.
And where is the church now? Unfortunately, some parts of Australasia are currently suffering badly within the fellowship.
This fact is acknowledged privately by overseers and senior workers in different parts. However these same overseers and senior workers do not appear to be willing to intercede or intervene. This is deeply troubling and disturbing to God’s people as they wish to see their brethren, wherever they are in this world, properly shepherded and cared for.
In the NZ conventions this year we heard from the platform that God didn't really want Kings, as originally God raised up righteous men as Judges. And this (the time of the Judges) is like how the kingdom is now.
Can this teaching be right?
Where is the place of Jesus Christ in this fellowship?
Where is the Holy Spirit?
These are grievous days for the flock.
We need to be praying people, asking God to open the overseers eyes, to open the overseers hearts, and to lead the ministry to put Truth before all else. Their reluctance to put Truth before all else, has caused damage and discouragement within the Fellowship.
And we need to be praying about our own position. We need to have it settled that we will always take ‘the Lord as our only Head’. Nobody else is to have that place.

And this (the time of the Judges) is like how the kingdom is now. I think part of the problem is we're stuck in the Old Testament. We're more Biblians than Christians sometimes. Here's the Christian view of God's kingdom: Here's the OT approach:

This reminds me of 45 years ago. Because of objecting to overseers at that time to our hypocrisy in accepting government worker pensions on the sly, and faulting other groups, while claiming ourselves to go "only in faith, supported only by our own," when I had that freak accident breaking 4 bones in my lower spine from the fifth lumbar down, I was left without a penny to pay for my medical care, or begin life again.
Upon returning to the US, I was forbidden by my overseer to even speak of these things.
Now another man must endure much. I admire him greatly and wish I had courage to do as he, long, long ago.

Virgo, You say 'i don't see any of this damage and discouragement you speak of, looks like satan is working well'
So you can’t see any “damage ‘ or “discouragement”??
Did you not hear the people’s testimonies at Winchester saying they had never felt so much like giving up, as this year??
What about the damage and discouragement taking place RIGHT NOW in Christchurch, where we have at least 5 workers that I know of, having their so called ‘break’ before starting in the yoke again in their fields. Think of Graham Thompson’s old mother, 101 years old, still very much with a clear mind, and still grieving over the situation her youngest son Graham finds himself in for conscience sake, - and not ONE of those workers have bothered to cross her door for even 5 minutes. They are too busy golfing, surfing. The Christian principle of finding your own joy by doing good to others has not been taught them. Workers USED to be advised to use their break to ‘recharge’, and recharging in Christ’s view does not come from pleasing yourself.
On the other hand, I know of two ex workers in Christchurch, who HAVE visited her in the last 2 weeks. They are people who left the work in later years, have to struggle to earn a living, no time much for surfing and golfing, and yet they recharge themselves and others in a Christian way. THAT is not ‘damaging’, nor is it ‘discouraging'
We are talking here about an old lady who, along with her husband, used to struggle to make ends meet so that they could keep an open home in Christchurch in years when the going was hard.
Nothing against a bit of surfing and golfing – but the spirit of caring for the old has left the ministry by and large – sadly.
I do agree with you that it ‘looks like Satan is working well'

I have no doubt that some will find it strange that I am encouraged to read the posts above. For those who are discouraged, there is a great risk that your faith in God will be compromised, even destroyed. After much discouragement I found myself having no option but to plough a lone furrow with my faith. Do not despair if you feel you are heading this way also. God will be your oxen. You will learn to be stronger in your faith and the words and works of man will be seen for what they are. Be You, and stand true!

Something shuts the friends up. Loyalty? Fear of man? My family every time I bring this topic up deny any knowledge of CSA, etc. Makes me look the trouble maker. The workers have a responsiblity. What if a worker reports another worker for any reason? What then do they get shunned? Ostrasized? Simon Im sure this thread is being read. By many. Too afraid to speak. As for AR. While he is responsible in some areas. I cant condone his behaviour. And who am I? Just a mouthy with too much info. What behaviour of ARs do you dislike?

It doesnt matter to me any more. While my parents were alive. It did. All kinds of things concerned me. I wanted to take on the whole 2x2 system. Now I could care less. AR is the head sherang whom you call overseer. You sound like you are looking for gossip.

When you make a public statement inferring that someone's behavior is not what it should be, people have every right to ask 'what'. To put a question mark over someones character like that says a lot more about you than them.

I need to let it go. Let God be God.
