Looking through these old posts, I wonder where some of these posters are today? Faded perhaps! Causes me to remember the words of an old hymn: We are fading away like the flowers that were yesterday in their bloom....We are passing, we shall never pass this Pilgrim's way again. Oh lord what a memory -- that awful emphasis on the uprising last syllable of "flowEEERRRRRRRRRRSSSSS..." But isn't there a "but" in there that you missed? "We are faaaaaa-ding a-wayyyyyy, like the flow-ERRRRRSSSSSS! that BUT yesssss-ter-day were in their bloooooooooooommm..."

Well I admit that the old memory is not what it used to be, "but" I think that I have done very well to remember any of it at all in the circumstances.

No no no, not at all, that is not wasting our lives caring about sheep being seduced etc. On the contrary, I think it is Doing a very good, Noble, kind hearted and Christian thing. Concerned for, and caring for the vulnerable and down trodden is honorable.IMO

But "some" really do waste their lives.

Not speaking for any one else, nonetheless I AM fading away, much like those flowers. One of the things I have observed is many plants linger on after their flower or fruit has come and gone, harvested if you will. Do I like the fact I am like that? Not at all, yet even in the awareness I am not nearly as able, I find the end of this awareness not coming a a robber.
For one, I am thankful to believe the end of this awareness comes for me as a rewarder. I know in whom I have believed, and that He is able, to keep that which I have committed onto Him against that inevitable day.

For Dennis, and others
I have seen some flowers and plants growing in the most extraordinary places. For instance. One day I was climbing a mountain in NZ and finally reached the summit which was a knife blade of rock sticking up out of the surrounding glacier. We crawled the last few metres from the chimney we had come up as the wind was so ferocious that we could not stand. There on that most inhospitable place were two wee Hebe's. Not sure what kind. They would have been no more than 50mm high but were quite stout in the stem. So a seed or two had been blown by wind and fallen into a crack, there found the necessities of life, soil and mositure and germinated, then sprouted into the wee trees I saw. This wee scene has stayed with me for many years.
regards.

It was just a realization that now I'm on the other side of those lyrics than I used to be...people who sing them now are essentially singing them about people like us (me). And yet now I feel a greater purpose than ever and realize the wasted time was before.
