Sorry I should have posted something earlier. I really enjoyed reading this post - and would even nominate it for the "Post of the week". I didn't respond immediately as I felt I had nothing to contribute or "add" to your post. It was well said and very encouraging for me.

Ask, seek and knock was a scripture I applied to my life continually for some time. I think it can be applied to any thing from your prayer over your giving, to seek God for anything in your life whether it be wisdom, understanding, knowledge, discernment. Anything that we would ask our Father for. Healing, deliverance, fulfilled personal prophecy. We can ask for anything, seek Him personally, and knock and keep knocking if we feel he isnt listening. We do have privelges as his children. Those are some of them I believe.
