There are many threads on this board regarding a proposed/planned 2x2 movie.
For those unaware of it, such movies already exist, albeit as parables.
One movie is "The Truman Show". Another is "The Matrix".
Symbolically and metaphorically, both movies tell a story to which many of us can relate: The struggles associated with coming to grips with many life-changing revelations: (1) Our 'reality', which we thought was created by God, was in fact created by man. (2) The rules of our 'reality' exist for the sole purpose of controlling us. (3) We have been misled/brainwashed since birth. (4) What we once would have died to remain in, we would now die to escape. (5) The process of escape consists of (in order), doubt, terror, astonished disbelief, acceptance, freedom, joy.
My personal favorite is "The Matrix". The parallels are astounding. I highly recommend it.
I've listed two movies. Does anyone else have more?

Where in these movies does it address the issues related to the 2x2 fellowship, such as the idea that we must meet in the homes for fellowship or that preachers of God must be homeless?

So this post got me thinking and I decided to watch the Matrix again.
This movie really does have a lot to do with the 2x2 religious system. As soon as you start to disagree with the machines in control of the matrix (Truth - a man-made religion), you become a threat. When you figure out that much of what you believe is all based on lies, you become the target of the agents (workers) who break the rules of the system themselves to take you out so you can't tell others what you've figured out.
Then you are faced with the blue pill red pill thing- don't believe and choose to be blind (blue pill), or believe, take the plunge, and see what really awaits you on the other side (red pill). Once your there you can't believe the deception you've been under all your life. Once your out of the system you can see how the people still in it are really enslaved, some amazingly by choice! And also incredible is when you 're-visit' (jack-in) to the system, the workers (agents) are a constant threat, trying to protect their turf and also, even though your re-visiting the controlled world, you have a sense of freedom never before felt - like the rules of control don't apply to you.
WOW. I'd never looked at the 2x2 system as the matrix but now I don't know why I didn't see it before. Think I'll watch it again. Thanks Rabbit!

Yes, and as soon as you don't rock the boat the workers will come in groups in dark limousines with sunglasses and will try to kill you by all means with their machine guns and karate tricks.
Good grief, your fantasy is excellent.

Oh Ronald--it's the theme, not the details. But now that you mention it, the pictures from the Upper Midwest Potluck could have been a lot more interesting with everyone in skin-tight black leather and/or trench coats.

I think The Matrix is a reflection of Plato's Cave. If you read Plato, you will find the basic sociological foundations of any society or subculture. But in that same vein, The Omega Man has a similar group that rejects all forms of technology, Doomsday has two isolated cultures shown. Both are quite radical and not very 2x2 like, but the same social elements are present.
