Martha Nelson and Lyle S had the service. Lyle spoke about the seed, and how the soil is nothing w/o the seed. I was a bit distracted through Martha's part by my youngest.
The burial was today. Lyle and Caleb were there as well.
Thank you all for your prayers and thoughts. Thank you to all who came to the service yesterday, especially my good friends Scott and Skippy. There were over 300 people at the service.

Howdy, Martha spoke of how God sent his only son to be our Saviour, and to be our sacrifice which gives us everlasting life. I had problems hearing her, but her message was a good one. As Juli mentioned, Lyle spoke of the parable of the seed. He talked about the fact that we are like the soil, and without the seed within us we are powerless to do anything on our own. As a field that has been plowed and barren, it is nothing unless there is seed planted in it. He went further to say that when we receive the seed within us, like the soil, there is nothing that is of US that makes that seed grow. The fruits that become apparent in our lives are the fruits that appear because God is working in our lives. It is nothing that we do, it is all about what God does through us. I thanked him for this message afterward, as it is how I also believe the parable of the seed is meant. He also spoke of how he had known Harvey for many years, and what a wonderful man he was, and how much he meant to his family. It was good to hear him speak of Harvey like this, and not to make the service into just another gospel meeting. Scott See... I WAS paying attention....
