James W. Ferguson, 89, of Denver, CO., passed away Friday, February 8, 2008. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, February 14 at Park Lawn Chapel. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Burial in Green Lawn Cemetery. James was born December 22, 1926 in Deckerville, Michigan. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. James married Jean Baurichter on October 16, 1951. He worked for the Social Security Office in Kansas City, MO, for 30 years. After retirement, he and his wife worked together in their Reflexology business. Jim and Jean moved to Denver, CO in 2003 to be near their daughter and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Barbara Britz, mother, Bella Ferguson, father, Peter Ferguson, brothers Keith and Ken Ferguson and sister, Ann Porter. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jean, his daughter, Jane Britz (Ray), his grandson, Scott Britz (Mindy) and his granddaughter, Sharalyn Naef (Ryan). Jim's friends have spoken of his meekness, kindness, and faithful service to God. His family has witnessed the same qualities in his life, and will miss his quiet influence and love. (Arr. And how he will be missed. I remember as a child, fighting with my sister Little Momma to sit next to Jim during Sunday morning meeting. He would place a child sized folding chair between him and Jean, or beside him, and whoever got there first was the most privliged person. During meeting he would rub my back. He often reminded me as I got older of a time I whispered up to him, "Can you make a different track on my back?" He was always supportive with my fledgling testimonies, and gave me confidence to continue the path I was on. I hope that I will always remember this wonderful man and to live my life with the same amount of zeal for the truth.
