Mahlon Sullivan Moe, age 78 of Princeton, MN and formerly of Fridley, MN and Newell, IA died Friday June 29th, 2007 at his home in Princeton.
Mahlon was born on October 23, 1928 in Lisioux, Saskatchewan, Canada to Gilman and Mattie (Overby) Moe. His family moved to Minnesota when he was a small child and lived in various places throughout the state. Mahlon attended school in Mille Lacs County.
Mahlon married Fern Ina Johnson on October 29, 1949 in Chaska, MN. The couple lived in Cologne, MN. Mahlon worked for 37 years at the Hardware Hank warehouse in Minneapolis. Mahlon retired to Newell, Iowa in 1991 and moved to Princeton in 2004.
Mahlon was a kind and selfless man who lovingly cared for his wife until her death in March.
His faith and love for the Lord, was first place in his life he also loved his family, our ministry and his many friends. He enjoyed reading his Bible. He also was a regular patron of the library, enjoyed fishing and the game of golf.
Mahlon is survived by his children: Viv (Bob) Hansen, Larry (Jan) Moe, Audrey (Wayne) Ekman, Diane Moe; grandchildren: Bryan (Celia) Hansen, Amber (Nathan) Lewis, Julie Moe, Bruce (Maria) Hansen, Autumn (Ryan) White, Eric (Nicole) Moe; great-grandchildren: Zey, Jacki & Coy Lewis and Kayli & Caden Hansen; two brothers: Cleon and Bob Moe.
Mahlon is preceded in death by his parents and loving wife of 57, years Fern on March 3, 2007 and one brother: Dennis Moe.
Casket Bearers: Collin Boettcher, Karl Boettcher, Billy Anderson, Bjorn Anderson, Charlie Frank, Billy Frank.
Honorary Casket Bearers: John Evans, Merle Ingalls, Rodger Anderson, Richard Anderson, Roger Boettcher, Clayton Frank, Albert Steinbrecher, Joel Haakenson
Visitation: 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2007 at the Williams-Hanson-Kaun Funeral Home in Princeton.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2007 at the Williams-Hanson-Kaun Funeral Home in Princeton.
Interment: A family graveside service will take place on Friday at Maple Knoll Cemetery in Osseo, MN.
