> 3/6/07 Our dear Ken Lerwick finished his journey on earth about 4 p.m. today. His brother Jim and wife were there. We are so glad Barry Barkley was present along with Tom D., Jon P. and Robert E. They sang 3 hymns before he passed away. A funeral service will be held at Blackwater Saturday. I have no details on time or even where it will be but you may contact Bob Wxxxx: xxx-xxx-xxxx who should have this information by tomorrow. They will be taking Ken's body back to WY for burial. This will be my final email regarding our dear Ken. We have precious memories of his last few days with us. Never once did we hear him complain. Once he stated matter-of-fact like that he had constant pain in his neck and ear. His lymph glands were very enlarged in that area. He was grateful for every thing he shared with us, thanking us after every meal, etc. He would share comical little experiences, laughing as hard as we did. To say we will miss him is a gross understatement! Love, Naomi

Although I only met Ken recently after we moved to Missouri last June, he really impressed me with his kindness and humility. I was so glad to have the privilege of knowing him. Love Ed

Dear family, This week marks one year since our Ken left us. It was Tuesday afternoon of March 6, just after Jim and Linda arrived, that we sang hymns around the hospital bed as his heart stopped beating and his spirit flew away.....free!. We are thankful for all the fruit we saw developing in that spirit from the days of youth until that day. God is working now in us and we do want to keep tender, lean toward the knife of the husbandman, learn to abide in Jesus and let His word spoken personally to us abide in our hearts, so we will bring forth fruit that will glorify His name.
Following are the notes I took at the last worker's meeting I attended where Ken was... the regional meeting at Happy, TX. Ken said: "We owe thanks to many for all their care thru the years." He told the story of the burro whose Master lifted the load, took him to the top where he saw the other side, and then he was ready to go! He mentioned that he had felt he would be going home early when he learned of his disease, but it looked like he might be here awhile yet. "However long, home isn't too far and we can gladly bear our burden. What might we be bearing if we didn't have this privilege?" He referred to hymn 312 (Sweet is the Rest), II Corin 4:10 - 12, Phil 3:10, "It takes a dying ministry to produce a living church. Those first workers who came here brought forth fruit that makes us sure of the benefit of this ministry. We need people who wholly follow the Lord. Unless we have the life of God in us we will simply decay like a kernel of wheat that has no "life" in it. No one sees the kernel begin to sprout. No one knows the results, truly, of the dying. This is not the death that takes away hope, but that which brings power over decay --- power to become something we never thought we could do or mean to others. It is the power of the resurrection. It sets us free from fear of what may become of us in this life. Of all the people I have known, His servants are so thankful."
I think of all of you and appreciate your thought of us.
Much love, Lorraine

Some years ago I was a university professor at Delta State University in Mississippi. I met Paul Lerwick in those parts. I do not recall his wife's name, but I do recall that he was from Wyoming. I wonder if he was relate to Kenneth. Does anyone know?
Sorry to hear about Kenneth passing away.
