Helen Pool 12-8-1917 to 11-29-2006
Fred Pool 11-14-1917 to 12-4-2006
Fed N. Pool was born on November 14, 1917 in May, OK, the son of William Asbury Pool and Anna Ines Pool. In 1926, the family moved to Dodge City, Kansas, where his father was manager of a lumber yard. Fred finished high school there while delivering papers and working in the Woolworth's Store stock room. Because of the depression, such bad dust storms and no available jobs, he decided to go west to find a job. He found work on farms, ranches and the highway construction.
Helen Kaime Pool was born December 8, 1917 in Albuquerque, NM, the daughter of Clifford Ayers Kaime and Gladys Henrietta (Hersey) Kaime. Cliff and Gladys had established a large cattle ranch along the Largo Canyon in NW New Mexico, and made the trip to Albuquerque for Helen to be born. When it was time for Helen to attend high school, they bought a home in Aztec, NM. Helen graduated from HS in 1935.
Helen (Hank, to some of her best friends) was united in marriage to Fred N. Pool on 12-18-1938 in Aztec, NM. A year later, they moved to Washington DC, where Fred worked for the US Government as a Civil Service Clerk. In 1941, Fred transferred to the US Air Force as a Civilian Employee in Albuquerque, NM. He worked at several Air Force Bases until retiring at Kingsley AF Base in Klamath Falls, OR in 1974. They made their home in KF from 1970-1993 at which time they moved to Prescott Valley, AZ. In 2002, they moved back to Oregon, settling in the Forest Grove community. During their 68 years of marriage, they raised two sons, Ed and Stephen.
In 1951, Helen heard the Gospel at Albuquerque through Steven Shorten and Gus Jensen.
Fred accepted the gospel in 1969 in Albuquerque, NM.
Funeral services, 12-4-06, were officiated by Lee Irish and Dorene Dutton. The congregation sang, "In Jesus' Hands", "Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee"
Hymn solo by Michelle Stevens "When Life is Ended"
