Subject: Fw: What Equals 100%? From a strictly mathematical viewpoint:
What Equals 100%? What does it mean to give MORE than 100%? Ever wonder about those people who say they are giving more than 100%? We have all been in situations where someone wants you to give over 100%. How about achieving 101%? What equals 100% in life?
Here's a little mathematical formula that might help you answer these
Questions:
If: A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z
Is represented as: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26.
Then:
H-A-R-D-W-O-R- K 8+1+18+4+23+15+18+11 = 98%
And
K-N-O-W-L-E-D-G-E 11+14+15+23+12+5+4+7+5 = 96%
But,
A-T-T-I-T-U-D-E 1+20+20+9+20+21+4+5 = 100%
AND, look how far the love of God will take you
L-O-V- E-O-F-G-O-D
12+15+22+5+15+6+7+15+4 = 101%
Therefore, one can conclude with mathematical certainty that: While Hard work and Knowledge will get you close, and Attitude will get you there, it's the Love of God that will put you over the top! It's up to you if you share this with friends and loved ones just the way I did.
It's not WHAT you have in your life, but Whom you have in your life that counts.

from a mathematical point of view this entire thread is flawed, 100% is completion, full, absoute end. you cannot give more than 100%.

My understanding was that if someone gives 110% they are giving 10% more than is expected. So in your example you are giving 101% of what god expected but god is defined as being all knowing so he knows what you will give. So is it ever possiple to give more (or less) than 100% of what he expects? apples (with too much time on his hands!)

A beautiful thought and a cool little message. I get forwards every day that don't have as much thought or meaning of boosting the spirit and trying to promote good will and good thoughts.

Oh...I thought this was a thread for just good thoughts....ah well...I will add mine anyway!! My husband quit smoking after many years of wanting to, about six days ago. He gives the "credit" to God. I'm very happy he's quit. M.

It is entirely possible, from a mathematical standpoint to have more than 100%. A percentage is simply a fraction represented in decimal form multiplied by 100.
What is so impossible about 11/10 or 2/1?
It is the philosophical side that assumes 100% is the completion and therefore the maximum.

It depends on what the baseline or denominator of the ratio represents. If the baseline is maximum effort, it is impossible to give 110%, and management that asks for that shows only their stupidity. If the baseline is median or average or normal effort, then it's quite possible to give 110 or 120 or even 200%. Incidentally, did you know that 90% of parents think their kids have above average intelligence? And 75% of men think their weight is below the average, and 95% of all women think theirs is above.
