Bush has to be one of the worse public speakers who ever held office.
He should have refused the debates.
I guess there will be a 5% bump in the polls

Debate winners (IMO): 1st Pres: Kerry VP: Cheney 2nd Pres: Bush Robb I would give the VP a tie. I thought Edwards came across as more likable though. Many people vote by the face. In the 2nd debate I think Bush came across as too angry too many times. It was easy to see that Kerry was getting under his skin and people wonder about the stability in a case like that. Calling them debates is so very wrong. But if they followed a debate format no one would watch! I think Bush is at a disadvantage in not having the instant recall of a lot of facts and as a result sounds like he has only a limited number of points to make. Some people are think-on-your-feet public speakers and some are not.

I think Present hit the nail on the head with:
I think Bush is at a disadvantage in not having the instant recall of a lot of facts and as a result sounds like he has only a limited number of points to make.
I thought it was pretty much a toss up, each side thinking they won.
I think Kerry wins in one point and that is that with each debate he seems presidential, people can picture him as the presedent.
I do wonder what the repercusions would be if Bush would have flat refussed to debate. Would the fall out for refusing have hurt him enough to lose? I don't think he has anything to gain from the debates. Intersting thought to ponder about anyways.
