The media don't want you to know this until mid November. But I think Iraq is on the right track.
Look at Lebanon. Remember Lebanon? During the 1970s and 1980s, this nation was known for kidnappings, bombings, suicide bombers, hostages, and chaos. The once Paris of the East (Beirut) was a killing factory as militias battled each other far worse than Iraq today. Today democracy is there. Outside the area to the north of Israel, peace and prosperity has returned. Christians and Muslims are becoming friends and marrying each other.
Iraq doesn't have an insurgency movement that controls vast amounts of territory like in Vietnam or Laos in the 1960s. Foreign involvement is limited. Peace has returned to the north and south. Only in the Sunni triangle does murder and mayhem continue. Soon we will be taking vacations to Iraq and seeing scenes from the war. It will happen.

Somewhere on the TMB, Edgar Massey has some vacation photos of Croatia-an area in the Balkans where ten years ago, bloodletting was a way of life. Today people are taking vacations there.
If Lebanon, Vietnam, Croatia-Serbia-Bosnia and other war torn nations enjoy peace and democracy, the same can happen in Iraq.

I know many from Iraq personally here in Michigan. They are very happy that Iraq has gotten it's independence from Sadam. They love this USA and most do not want to return - even with the free'd country.
