Do people really lose weight with Atikin's diet? Wasn't Mr. Atkins a lard butt? ;D

Do people really lose weight with Atikin's diet? Wasn't Mr. Atkins a lard butt? ;D Not only overrated, but hazardous to the health especially for women. As with everything else we eat, carbohydrate balance is vital to sustained health. Sure, these people may lose weight, but other problems will develop, and they will never see the relationship. inatent

As long as there's a healty and proper balance of carbs/protein/fats, and eating less calories than one burns in a day, there will be always be weight loss results. Adding in an exercise plan will help speed up the progress as well.
For some people, however, following a specific diet "plan" works for them in helping them to get that proper balance. I agree with Inatent, however, that the Atkins diet is not a healthy eating plan to be on for the long haul . . .
