I never believed in Santa. Not even as a child. My sister did and I couldn't figure out why.

Inatent, I believe I answered you. Yes, you gave me good answers. I guess most people just aren't interested in the subject. I was probing for indications that people recognize how they change their beliefs. I'll have to try a different approach. inatent

I never believed in Santa. Not even as a child. My sister did and I couldn't figure out why. Neither did I. I got in trouble sometimes for telling other children there was no such thing. I never could understand people getting angry when I simply told the truth. I guess I haven't changed much, because about a year and a half ago I was quietly "retired" (no pension) from my job of almost 30 years for the same reason! inatent

Definitevely more Santa's. In France they are called Pere Noel, and St Nicolas. In Orthodox countries they are called St Basil. Jesus was only one - if one at all (probably waht we read as the sayings of Jesus are collections of teachings from various rabbis of the centuries around the life of Jesus).
And Santa Claus always brings hapiness, presents, love - never swords, battles, lost eternities, Hell and the like.
I for sure believe more and more in Santa's eternal message - long live the children ...

This sounds like my younger brother, who got a teacher in elementary school very riled up when he didn't get what all the "Santa Claus" hype was about, and blurted out one day in class discussion that there was no such thing. He got taken out in the hall very quickly, and was told not to say such things. Needless to say, he was pretty confused about why his fellow classmates were actively told something that wasn't true (by their own parents, needless to say!); yet he was the one who got in trouble. Kind of confusing to a child.

Jesus was only one - if one at all .. What I meant is that there are many interpretations of who Jesus is, and even the beliefs of one individual about him can change drastically. I have never met a person who knows who Jesus really is without admitting that once they didn't know, or were wrong. inatent

. . . . yet he was the one who got in trouble. Kind of confusing to a child. I hope he got some comfort at home. inatent
