Do you think the "rebel" flag is a symbol of racism? Or southern pride?

I don't think it's a symbol of racism, but many people take it as such, thanks to groups like the KKK.
To me, it represents southern pride -- others see it differently.

I'm from Georgia...I'm so sick to death of the flag issue. It offends a whole lot of people here...so take it off. It was put on there in the 50's as a direct repsonse to desegregation and that's wrong. And, it's bad for business. We sure don't need that in this state.

Didn't guvna Perdu whip ole Roy Barnes' butt?
Remember Tamara, General Sherman's forces shed Georgia blood in 1865! Don't forget it! Women and children were slain by this monster! Atlanta was burned to the ground along with Savanna and Columbia! The North has oppressed the South for way too long! But the south will rise! Never forget the horrors of Sherman's March to the Sea! Georgia blood was shed by the ruthless Yanks!

I don't see anything wrong with people owning a rebel flag. But why should they be displayed on a public building?
