You're mixing together so many different things that your questions are no longer intelligible. What does heresy have to do with the saints persevering? A heretic is one who actively believes falsely with respect to the essentials of Christianity.
As for drawing a line, I do no such thing. The final end of each person is up to God. He knows who are His and who aren't.
If you are referring to the Augustinian view of perseverance then Augustine would counsel a person to petition God for the gift of perseverance, praying with belief that they will receive it. He would also counsel those who are unsure of their standing to be strong in faith in God lest they are among those who have not been gifted to persevere and have a real risk of falling into apostasy.
