Brad has told his story before. Much of the material does not appear to be significantly different from what he posted earlier in 2007. Of course the content of the story is irrelevant to those whose self-identity and self-definition consists of being in opposition to the true Church.

Had the tables been turned, Nathan's rage at having his privacy violated would have consumed this board for two days.

It's indeed sad that you are unable to percieve that Brad is a regrettably damaged individual who would benefit from professional intervention. I see much of the "hurt inner child" in his writings; and the fact that he divests of himself hours churning out writings about his past greviances is most distressing. Especially so given that he has an audience, hungry with Schadenfraude; eager to crunch on the bones of ill-news and negativity.

By encouraging him you only ally yourself to evil forces in your persecution of what you believe to be "good".

Brad needs help. The best help would be for him to turn again to the Church, recieve the gospel, and be healed from the heart. Unfortunately, he has chosen to wander the mountainside, "crying and cutting himself with stones".

I think it's great that you had the courage and character to recognize the cult for what it was and take steps to heal for yourself.

When Muslims have kindly told me in the past that my failure to embrace Islam, and say the shahadah ("There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his Prophet") will result in my going to Hell, I take no offense. I do not curse them and say they are living in an exclusivistic cult, and they should "get out". For I know that cursing and barracking at men does not persuade them.

Would you say that your posts are consistent with Christian scripture, teaching and the Spirit of God? I used to ask Brad Lewis this question many times, and he refused to answer. In that instance, silence spoke louder than words.

I find it ironic, indeed, that you appeal to the "Spirit of Christ". We all know that the Spirit of Christ is that of love, joy and peace - qualities I certainly have not demonstrated in spades, regrettably. However, I believe the Christian life is one of ongoing failure, then repentance (prompted by the Holy Spirit who gives us "room for repentance"), forgiveness and restoration to communion with the Good and True God. We are called to be confessional people; repentant people.

More ironically still, the term "Spirit of Jesus" is mentioned only once in the scripture, to the best of my knowledge, and that is in The Acts of the Apostles, where He directed two apostles to a place of spiritual need.
